      @correypeta it's the woman they haven't named I read since then. On the one hand, she's behind the controls, on the other, the instructor is responsible for what she does. Having said that, if hypothetically she does multiple things wrong, it's hard to figure out what was done and how to undo it, based on watching 100+ airplane accident videos. There is only so much time. Of course, I'm not saying it's on her, the instructor could have misdirected her. My guess is they all had some part in this ending. The 3rd guy is not usually a pilot, and his job was to make sure they are clear of other aircraft. What happened was so crazy, part of me wondered if it was intentional. As congested of airspace as it is, there was still more space available with no aircraft than busy areas. So how did they end up on the same level as the plane when they were supposed to be higher?! It also seems like ATC didn't do enough. Why, when they got closer to one another, did he not urgently tell both pilots! I'd be yelling to the helicopter Mayday and to move out of the way however many feet.

    • @Happybidr
      @Happybidr 6 дней назад +1

      They aren’t ‘hiding’ anyone’s identity. It has to do with complexities of family notification, which involves personal visits of two officers often to multiple locations. Before you proceed to accept a very simplistic explanation that DEI refers to the pilots gender please read my earlier post where I explained what the DEI comments were referring to. It had to do with the hiring of an insufficient number of new air traffic controllers.

  • @seanlee2873

  • @Happybidr
    @Happybidr 6 дней назад +1

    My heart goes out to him. The DEI stuff has been misunderstood. I think in the final analysis, everyone will realize that You see, DEI impacted who got hired as an air traffic controller (ATC). The Biden Administration used their time in office to make a stand about diversity and inclusion, by setting goals of employment of a wider variety of groups than just race, adding in additional groups (I.e., transgender, etc.). So a number of people who might have gotten hired normally did not get hired. Some of this led to smaller numbers being hired than is needed. One report says that 285 out of 313 ATC locations are currently understaffed. In addition, the night of the crash, there normally should have been two people, but only one person was doing the job. Optimally, one person would talk to the airplanes, and another person would talk to the helicopters. But this night there was only one person doing both jobs. A number of pilots have pointed out. That the ATC would normally have said to look for a particular plane in a particular space but this time they did not do that.. so it’s possible that it led to the helicopter pilots identifying the wrong plane and thus missing the plane that they were supposed to steer clear of. It’s no criticism of anyone’s gender or ethnicity or anything else. But it did impact hiring, and thus can be said to be one of the reasons why there weren’t enough air traffic controllers at the time.

    • @medupet1
      @medupet1 6 дней назад

      That's a very long-winded excuse. So the pilot hit the CRJ because 10 years ago under Obama the FAA decided to hire a black or Latino or perhaps a lesbian to work in ATC? WTF?

    • @BOXZION
      @BOXZION 6 дней назад

      Trump fired the head of the FAA; Dismantle the Aviation Safety Advisory Committee; and put a freeze on the hiring of new ATC staff. Yet you think that DEI is the reason there was only one ATC working at the time of the accident.
