Thanks! I've been wondering if the flickering I'm seeing in other tests is b/c of difference in frame rate, but other reviews have not addressed that issue. Thanks for letting us know it's not visible in real life.

Yeah the flickering is due to the different frame rates of the projector and camera used to record the review.
To be honest I've found a better projector direct from China called the Coolux SX3.

Did it require any special hardware to mount it on the tripod or does it have the standard screw-in mount like a camera? Thank you! Great review!

All the Vivitek Qumi's have a standard tripod mount. The only thing I'd say is don't try one of these mini desktop tripods as the Q5 is a bit side heavy and won't stand up.

Have you tried using a power bank with this projector. Let us say one that can give 19V/3A output. Does it work?

What do you think about Qumi Q7 Plus? I need it for a Class-Room and there's a little of sun light going on by a small window. Lights can be turned off.

Alexis Pinzón The Q7 looks very nice but I'd probably still say it's not bright enough for a classroom environment. I'd look at seeing if you can hire one to try before you buy or buy from a dealer who'll let you test and return.

Have you tried this projector as an external monitor for a computer? Curious how well smaller text renders - is it sharp and easily read, or hard on the eyes?

It's good as an external monitor. Test is sharp and easy to read. Native resolution is 720p.

Can i use it in place of TV ?? Can it be connected yo setup box ??

Prabhjot Cheema You could replace your TV with this but it does need to be in a pretty dark room for best results. I have a long HDMi lead coming from my Home Cinema Receiver to my TV. If I want to use the projector now and again I just unplug the HDMI from the TV and into the projector. That way the picture goes to the projector but I still get 5.1 sound from my surrround. Short answer is yes you can connect it to settop box like SKy etc via HDMI.

+alvin pagalilauan You can plug in either a USB pen drive or a hard drive. Probably better to have a hard drive with it's own power supply though.

I've just replaced this with a Coolux X3S which is brighter and can do 3D direct from Bluray.
