Dear Lisa, I decided to have a go at these to sell at Christmas for the care home where I work and although I don’t consider myself good at crafts I was thrilled with how they turned out. I’m in UK and it’s hard to find items cheaply, even our charity shops charge a lot just for a scrap of lace. I had to buy candy canes from Amazon. To keep costs down, when I did the hearts and had used the bit of lace I had, I used a carol (joy to the world) printed on tea dyed paper as the back of the heart and it looks lovely. Thank you for all the tutorials xx
Love the faux candy canes !! You could use an iron to dry the fabric, but again that would take more time that just using the inks to stain them. Just a thought ! I love the heart. It turned out really pretty
Loving the primitive look more each time I see it. Great idea to use canes to make a heart, almost forgot about that. Loved them both but the heart stole my heart because of the lace. You can’t go wrong with lace, big in Victorian decor. Always amazed at the patience you have making anything!
I love this project !! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 (only on the naked (natural) candy cane project so far)😅 And I loved both of these projects ! 🤗🤗🥰🥰. Thank you for sharing 🥰🥰🥰
I have made these for years but your take is adorable with the natural batting. I also make big ones with burlap. I got a giant box at a garage sale for a dollar.
I love these very much.. Genius.. Just a hint for some ..when using the glue gun just wait 3-4 seconds before touching..it's cooled slightly and doesn't burn your fingers..
Sometimes I need my brain jingled a bit and you helped me when you suggested using a different fabric behind the candy cane heart, thanks so much...off to create!
You come up with so many wonderful ideas! I love the candy canes and the way you made some into hearts. I think the warm and natural makes them look primitive .
