@@lemontree666333 Apparently in the book, it goes into more detail about her.. She's gone to chokey several times, and is very well known around the school for very often pulling pranks on the Trunchbull. She isnt afraid of her at all lol.
Did you notice the entire lyrics started from A and went all the way to Z, incorporating each letter into a word? SUPER clever songwriting there! That's why the name of the song is "school song"
The Z eluded me for so long when I first heard the song years ago, because I’m an American and we pronounce it “zee,” but when I realized that it’s stuck into “phys-ZED” my mind was blown lmao
Well, that was the point of the song. You'd have to be a baby to not notice that. They even highlighted it in the movie, showing each letter on the door or other things. Gotta fish for likes eh?
i love that they sing thru the alphabet once but it's so well written that you don't even notice until they give it to you a second time and show the letters. my favorite letters are H and Z, very clever
The location is probably weird to a lot of people these days, but as someone who grew up in the uk, a lot of our schools occupy buildings that have been around for a long time and still have a design reminiscent of a Victorian prison, even when covered up with a fresh lick of paint. This whole film really really nails the setting of England in a particular period of time. Which makes sense, since it's based on a book by a British author.
Tim Minchin is an interesting guy and his music and comedy are brilliant. He seems like a person who is full of empathy. Roald Dahl, who wrote the book also leaned into the dark and never shied away from the fact that kids are far more emotionally sophisticated and aware than they’re given credit for. It’s sort of a perfect combination. And she’s just so pure in the way that she performs it.

Great reaction video! It's a wonderful musical, and I love that the narrator in the book as well as the musical shows the world out of the perspective of a child. Even a normal school can be really intimidating for a child, and a strict headmaster could seem like a roaring monster. The lyrics and the choreography are also so spot on and the kids are amazingly talented. I think though that the red beret girl is actually supposed to be the rebel, so the opposite to the prefects. That's probably why her arm is in a cast. :( By the way, I love your hair colour and style! :)
I think its its good to note that this is Crunchem Hall. A school run by Trunchbull. I don’t think she would build or set up her school in a typical school building.
I'm thinking about the ending and the girl with the blonde short hair who said "Just you wait for Phys ED" I was like "Oop she is in trouble because she ain't in class"
I had to look up how they pronounce the letter Z. They pronounce it a Zed. So that’s why it’s Phy-Z. This song is genius 👌🏾 I couldn’t even finish watching the movie before I came look at your reaction 😂😂
Quiet was my favourite song just because it really resonates with me and some stuff about me, but the film was honestly so good, I liked all of the songs a lot I was sat singing along in the cinema 😂 Edit- can I also say when I was watching this I was so impressed by the alphabet in the song 🤣 Second edit- I need to see a reaction to the song by the trunchbull (the smell of rebellion) I was crying with laughter
I would love to hear you react to Tim Minchin's "White Wine In The Sun". Please react to:
•Naughty
•Quiet
Both from Matilda the Musical 2022
The why part is so cute.. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The way all the lyrics spell the alphabet and you don't even realize it the first time is nothing short of genius! And of course my dumb American self thought they copped out on the letter Z the first time I watched this...and then remembered that Brits often pronounce it as "Zed" and it was at the end of "Phys Ed". 🤦♀️
OH I DIDN’T EVEN REALIZE THAT that’s so cool man
it took me listening to the song several times to remember they say "zed" too😂
This is a true Masterpiece
I HAVE WATCHED MATILDA 5
TIMES NOW
In the movie they say everything with the letter that says it in the word
I haven't watched the new film yet. I don't know if you knew that it's in theatre and there's like another 2 movies of it. This one has sure gone down a different track from the rest of them though!
There’s other musical Matilda movies????
@@echoworks4836 Theres other Matilda Movies. none of which are musicals. just the theatre version
@@trainswithmark OH! Didn’t know that! I’ll look them up
All the kids are talented.. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

cause your life as you know is ancient history
ALL:

and if you cry it will be double
you should stay out of trouble
