Nah aventurine didn't know about it. Dr ratio was the only one acting
it hurts to see people hating dr ratio because of what just happened. especially when he was the only one who cares for avens wellbeing. you have to understand that his friend looped him into a self destructive plan, of course he would be frustrated to be asked to play the traitor that leads towards it. on multiple occasions he reminded aventurine that hes stupid for walking to his doom (which yes he was throwing his life away) and that he should pull out. but he knew his friend wouldn’t, and did what his friend asked for anyway, trusting that aventurine would come out alive. and hoping that he would Want to come out alive. and when he was worried, he left him that note and a hint
no one else treated aventurine with respect for the risk he was taking and the heights he was aiming for. and ratio supported aventurine’s decisions despite not agreeing with him. he understood why aventurine had to do this. so he supported him where he needed to. aventurine was looking for fucks sake to anyone for assurance in his last hours, he asked sparkle and even acheron to tell him what was all his struggling for. but ratio already knew why. he was a reminder that there is still someone out there who wants to see him alive. and for aventurine, thats all he needed at that moment to keep going
thats why ratio disappears on aventurine. he doesnt give them a chance to say goodbye. because he trusts that aventurine will come back again

Censorship really doesn't benefit at all without proper context. Too many times have the EN censorship ruined the meaning and context of dialogues and situation, and honestly this is quite a widespread problem throughout many games.
@@yeorelz this is why I always go for subs wether it's anime, games, or foreign shows in general. That way if there's a difference in meaning due to localization I can spot them immediately. People don't realise just how much changes were made to the script and for hoyoverse games in particular it's actually quite a lot.
Honestly, I wonder if the English team simply wasn't given the proper context from Hoyoverse or not.
Just about everyone had interpreted Sparkle's "find a mute" quote as a joke in poor taste, and it seems like the English team interpreted it the same way.

I think each localization teams were given the dialogues to translate and that it be kept to the OG meaning as closely as possible (which is ofc what they are supposed to do) but localization also means to make appropriate for a certain culture. From my observation (few though), alot of American localization company tend to be more sensitive about phrasing, hence alot of changes in order to not offend ppl.
Whether or not it benefits the story, I think it has been made clear. If an impact is to be made in a story, then I think the content should be given raw, not prettified. But we live in society.

I think you miss understood story, Ratio didn't betray aventurine. Both Ratio and Aventurine were acting to fool wensday and Ratio says it scene later and Aventurine clone says that "doctor acting was superb"

Of course Dr. Ratio didn't betray Aventurine. He had the perfect opportunity to reveal the entire plan, since he has knowledge of all Ten Stonehearts' cornerstones. But instead he purposely mislead Sunday into the wrong conclusion by thinking the Jade was the Aventurine stone.
When I faced this scene, I thought that person like Dr.Ratio would not betray someone for something. I mean he has his honor. And in the end, this was an ACT 😊

The effects of the Harmony that Sunday used on Aventurine which would kill him within a few hours.
Although I think at the end-ish of the story Acheron ends up taking away that harmony effect. So aventurine is not dead, luckily.

ratio was frustrated with aventurine because he went through with the plan that costed him his life. still, he followed through with avens request to play the traitor. i think he was just worried, so he gave him the note to pull him through. which made me feel much better honestly because it looked like one else cared for aven when he clearly walked his path to self destruction
