What I love about Sheikh is he seems so cool and chilled when talking casually, he laughs, jokes and has a personality. But when discussing deen he remains serious and holds his laughing and is professional for hours Allah hummah baarik
Tabaaraka Allah, I accidentally came across this interview and came to know this noble sheikh, that am starting to follow from now on. May Allah bless him and bless you all.
Shout out Minneapolis Minnesota man ... I was there back in 2012 and seen a big Somali presence over there ... Had their own businesses thriving and all that .. we are very blended here in NYC but not nearly as many Somali brothers
May Allah reward you both. Love the sheikh and used to phone up Brixton Masjid to find out whether he was doing the Friday qhutba. May Allah bless his parents, his siblings, wife and children, ameen.
Jazakallah qeyr John for getting Ustad Abdirahman on the show and for him sharing us with little bit of his knowledge jazakallah qeyr May Allah reward you in the hereafter, May Allah SWT heal your father insha Allah. People like him inspire us to do better and raise our future or those who have offsprings to the right path of knowledge and manners. Alhamdulilah May Allah forgive our short comings, Amiin.
Mocallim Abdilwahaaab we all honor him subhanallah he is our first teacher and last may allah reward him and i wana say hi for everyone who come from xaafada banaadir sare❤️
MashaAllah thourghly enjoyed the ustad always add value, this one I definitely managed to get some knowledge from. Jazak Allah to the host and to everyone that helped put it together.
I wish brother John Fontain can bring learned people from other Madhaib on the show. Like brother Hassan was quoting Imam Shatibi to bring people of Ilm and discuss issues. We have Sheikh Sulaiman Moola in South Africa and you can request a podcast with him as the muslim masses can benefit a lot.
Mâcha Allah brother. When everyone can own a RUclips channel and speak English very they become Cheikh on their own and people start to listen to them .
siyama zik i am not Somali brother, and it is not nationalism. I love Somali people though. They are so hardworking and intelligent, and the make up such an overwhelming majority of those who memorize the Quran. And many many Ahadeeth. I take inspiration from the Somali people. Nationalism: identification with one's own nation and support for its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations. First of all: I am not Somali Second: I never excluded any other nation, because I love all nations that are close to Islam Third: I never said I liked the country itself. I said “Somalis” not Somalia brother. I love whatever race you are as well! And I am sure they are intelligent people too!
34:28 onwards, so true. Guy with a mic, throws some يعني and طيب, wears a imaamah is generally seen as someone with knowledge and the general mass including me has a hard time knowing who they really are unless they make clear statements that are off, but anyone who says a Hadith that doesn't sound fabricated, i can't recognize if its authentic, hasan, weak..etc. with my little arabic and Quran, i can at least know of someone is quoting Quran or not, but barely.
Assalamu Alaikum Brother John (and everyone Are you able to check for us with Shiekh AbdurRhaman Hassan about the book he mentions at 28:10 ? has this been released?
I think the brothers point with the story of the guy killing his father is that a killer does not inherit, important point to mention otherwise it doesnt make alot of sense.
I believe it’s Sheikh Okasha Al-Kameney from USA brother, a very famous Qari knowledgeable in the qiraat and Uloom Al-Qur’an, originally from Ghana. May Allah preserve him
Please bring Brother Imran (Dawah man) in your podcast show and try to reunite him with Ali Dawah. They both had great connection and their way of giving Dawah was so amazing
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبر كاته He’s one of my favourite teachers, may Allah bless him. But please remove the title “Sheikh”. It’s been used too many times for those who are not “sheikh”. Whether in knowledge nor old age. Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan is someone of knowledge but not to the level of the ulamah YET. But soon Insha’Allah. بارك الله فيك
Addi Waye the Scholars of Al Islaam. The word sheikh is used too loosely nowadays. Even Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan. The sheikhs who have grey in their hair and beard and not always by age. Even though sheikh in Arabic language means old man. But in Knowledge. Years and years, 40,50+ of research and implementation and consistency, dedication and sincerity is not easy at all. Staying on the path of The sunnah and the Quran according to the sahaba رضي الله عنهم. This is a sheikh. For example. Sheikh Salih Al Fawzaan, Sheikh Abdulmuhsin Al Abbad, Sheikh Abdurrazaq Al Badr, Sheikh Salih As Suhaymee. Then you have their students, such as Tim humble and you may refer to him as ‘Ustadh’ or yes sheikh in private gatherings but out of respect. But not public like this. الله اعلم
Ridwan Abdul mashallah brother, here two things we need to be differentiated one the word Sheik linguistically and title wise. Linguistically you explained well it’s age old men. I agree. But when it comes Islamic knowledge this brother knows more than a lot guys who even some of them called themselves MUFTI.
Addi Waye no doubt. I agree wallah. At the same time theres a balance. We still don’t call him sheikh. Rather he will tell you or his students will tell you not to. How can we call him sheikh and call fawzaan a Sheikh too? Doesn’t make sense. Look at the difference in knowledge and age. No doubt that Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan is on his way to become an aalim bi’ithnillah and he is ahead of his time at the moment Masha’Allah. Soon he will be rightfully titled sheikh due to his age and knowledge. الله اعلم
Ridwan Abdul I get your point brother may Allah bless you. But I still believe, Today he is one of the best sheiks we have. But not MUFTI. Jazzaka Allah, I wish you and your family to have the best Ramadan. IA
Asc I respect sheekh but story he talking. About somali is not true that’s fiction I’m somalia he talking about 4 km in mugadisho is not even all Mogadishu This sheekh He never travel or he don’t know all somalia I’m sorry he knows only 4 km living his tribe Only go to see somaliland northeastern somali a and centeral southwest I m sorry story of somalia that s fiction
Actually it’s very true and it’s not unbelievable it use to be regular thing, I remember before 2006 being every neighbor with roadblocks of mooryan. Let’s be honest I even remember of a story few of them making people dance, we talking about a old people. And other disgusting twisted games because they didn’t have money. Fear Allah and stop slandering the Ustadh.
Somalia was lawless. Violent and was dubbed moqdishu the most dangerous city and I think it was. Every one followd his qabil, killings were like saying the f word. I can go on. And Somali land included, every where was dangerous. You couldn’t even travel from one city to another because of roadblocks(and the road blocks were like highway robbers, murdering anyone they want). Now it’s different in many ways. People are tired now. But when the sheik was young that was a bad time in Somal. Why we all in outside somal if it was safe!!
Sheikh Abdur Rahman Hassan is on this way to greatness. I wish to live until the day he becomes a scholar like the giants of the past.
In shaa Allah, Ameen
