I’ve never had problems with my JJ Lares sticking. They’re actually my go to calls when it gets cold.

Any call will stick when it gets cold. That is because of freezing instead of moisture locking down the reed on the tone board. I've had a Lares stick on me, but it's rare. They are one of the best calls when it comes to not sticking. RNT calls are some of the worst about it. They sound great, but you really have to learn to blow them dry. I have a Daisy Cutter that I love the sound of, but it pretty much always sticks if I take it hunting.

Like what you said about finding the calls that fit you!!!! See it too many times, people getting hung up on I need this specific call by this specific call maker. Best advice is to try several good call makers and styles until you find those calls that you can run no matter what, day in and day out.

Waterfowl guys, especially young guys, tend to be very cult-like when it comes to calls. Anytime a call question is asked on a Facebook page or forum, you'll see "Brand X, hands down". Some brands or types of calls are inherently cheap or don't fit whatever your style is, however most calls can be tuned to fit what you're looking for. Goose calls especially are all about the tuning. If you find a goose call that fits you right out of the box, it's likely just coincidence that the way they tune or the way that particular call is tuned fits your style. I run a fairly heavily tuned goose call, so I pretty much never have anything that I don't retune.

The Power Calls Frequency and Impulse have been the calls that never leave my lanyard the past three or four years. I rotate different cut downs, RM Calls, and Lares as well during duck season. I swap the duck calls for a Half Breed or a Riceland speck call, depending on the situation, during goose season. I keep an Eastern Shoreman in my bag for a little something different to throw at them from time to time.

Kum duck calls. Unfortunate name, but there is no better call. That's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact.
