Yeah, I'm reading the comments and it's true! Everything you need to know about _'Band-Maid'_ is onstage! They are one of those rare bands who are just better LIVE! They really shine with extra solo's and battles. So tight!
Even though the live version is better it doesn’t show the difference in personalities among the band meme era, in the video it shows Miku being her maid self as she does off and on stage, it shows MISA drinking her alcohol, she loves her alcohol and doesn’t hide it. It shows Akane devouring food, she is a foodie and loves her food, it shows Kanami’s crush on Saiki, and finally you’ll see Saiki pushing away Kanami as she is know as being cold, in reality she has a huge loving heart
Everyone else says go live, and that indeed is the better version, but I do think this is one of the better MV and you get a little peak at each maid's quirks. Akane scarfing down food, Misa downing a flask, Kanami making moves on Saiki, and Saiki having none of it and Miku just being adorable.
It's a process figuring out the band and their fan base that's for sure haha. But we love it man, that's why all you awesome viewers are here for! We personally enjoy MVs more because it brings more to the meaning of the songs to us but with Band-Maid it's more about the performance and each lady doing their own individual thing so we will definitely keep that in the mind for the future haha! 🤘🤘🤘
There's a couple of running jokes within the band that pop up in this video, one of which you kind of hit upon with Akane (drummer) being hungry. I mean, to be fair, she does burn more calories in one song than the rest of the band does throughout an entire show. The other more subtle one is Kanami's (lead guitar) observation with lead vocalist Saiki.
Whoever recommended this song should have specified the "live" version. Wonderful instrumental stuff is to be found in the "live" version that isn't in this version. As a general rule, if there is a good quality "live" version, always prefer that to the Band-Maid studio videos.
We tried to keep a good mix this week of live and MVs. But if the live is what everyone says it is we may definitely have to check it out at a later time! 🤘🤘🤘
@@Matin3z_ Yeah, with Band-Maid, do NOT try to balance live vs. MV's - I only say that because their live versions are usually SO much better. This song for sure is WAY better in live version - you should do your next one on that and compare the two - just a thought.
@@Matin3z_ You did it right. See the song first then the live version. Get some sort of context and know what the song is first. If you are worried about not having a good reaction because you know the song and might not think they are great live, do not worry they are). I am just saying, to truly know how great they are, seeing how well they can put together a song THEN seeing what they do with it live is the ultimate show of their greatness. The music videos are awesome, do not let "liveheads" tell you otherwise. If you limit yourself to only the live ones because people tell you they are always better you miss out. There are PLENTY of live videos for songs that do not have a music video, watch them, but if you really like the songs you can react to the music videos first THEN do the live.

But I got to hear the performance of Blooming they did at the same concert as "Domination" and damned if once again "live" managed to transcend the MV. These women level-up constantly! And some of their songs are written for audience participation, so the studio version can feel lacking Also. when "live", they treat with longer solos or even instrumental "battles". Reincarnation (Rinne) has no high quality "live" available yet to review, so that would be OK as a MV, but stick with "live" whenever possible. You'll be happy you did.
This video has several inside jokes put in for Band Maid fans, the jokes reference several of their characteristics. First we see Kanami (lead guitar) dropping glasses, she's often teased for being the airhead of the group and she also happens to have (or had) a 'girlcrush' on the lead singer which is also alluded to later. This is followed by a shot of Miku (Rhythm guitar & vocals) being cute and making a 'band-maid' heart - the true Maid. Then you have a shot of Akane (drummer) seen pinching some fruit, she is known for her appetite which is again alluded to later in the video in the scene where all band members are shown together. This group scene is when Misa (Bass guitar) is seen drinking from a flask, a reference to her liking of bit of a drink while on stage, sometimes seen with a bottle of Jim Beam on her Amp. Akane is again seen eating, Misa again being cute and Kanami shown throwing herself at Saiki's feet who has a cool aloofness about her - 'Ice Queen -ish' but not cold - hence her pushing Kanami away (Saiki is Kanami's girlcrush). Saiki's aloofness is again referenced in the closing sequence when she stands on the gentleman as though he is a trophy - as well as showing the 'girl power' that these talented singers and musicians have in abundance.
This and the song choose me are like my favorite ones by them. Btw you guys should totally check out dazzle vision they are a japanese metal band with a female singer as well and they are awesome and a little heavier
Thank you for doing more Band-Maid! Their music videos are kind of ... safe I guess. Not boring, their songs make sure of that, but they aren't going to light your world on fire. As a general rule, the live videos are where it's at. Anything from the Zepp Tokyo show in 2018 is particularly good because that mix is just perfecto. The mix on the latest live somehow manages to de-emphasize all three guitars a bit, which I don't understand. Saiki is really good, but for me this band is about the music more than the vocals... said the dude who can't speak Japanese and in truth doesn't know what the songs say. Sue me. :-) They also have some gorgeous guitars, too. Kamani and her PRS's and particularly Miku's Aces and Eights Zemaitis are such pretty guitars. MISA's is I'm sure super top end, and I'd tell you what it is, but searching for "big black shiny bass" shockingly produced no clear answer. Unless it's a fish, and I have my doubts about that.
Haha we definitely feel that way too about the music over lyrical content. We know all of these songs have good meaning to them but you just get so lost in the whole instrumental package that it's hard to really break down the lyrics haha.

Look how young SAIKI is. She is younger than the other girls and the further you go back the more it stands out. She really does look and sound stunning in this. It's not my favorite BAND MAID song but she is the stand out in this clip. SHAKE THAT doesn't have a proper film clip but do it anyway its fun.

Wrong one. Sorry, but the LIVE is far better than the Music Video. This is usually the case with BAND-MAID, with a few exception like 'Blooming' and 'Rin'ne'.
If you going to do music videos. It should be DICE, RINNE, NON-FICTION DAYS, BUBBLE, THE DRAGON CRIES, and DAYDREAMING. Everything else is better live.
When you react to Band-Maid, Babymetal or any of Japanese Rock/Metal Bands, ever reacts to Live Versions, are far better than the MV (except in Rinne (Reincarnation) by Band Maid... Whatever... i have a suggestions for you. First BabyMetal Headbanger (Live Legend 1997) and Yousei Teikoku Astral Dogma (this is a MV)

There is no wrong version. The MV has great visuals. The live has a great instrumental break. All good.
