    Mmmmmm. Another cozy journey on a cold wintry day. It reminds me of some wonderful historic steam trips in the last years of SA broad gauge, in a private 8 seat booth. Start singing Memories, from the musical Cats. 😁 (I have to ask, are you tired yet of my weird comments? Mood swings can create some crazy ones)🤪

    Cool how in some places the track has smaller tracks within? For strength?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад +2

      They are check rails. Just in case of a derailment they will keep the wheels roughly guided along the track bed. 👍😊

    Is the track via Bungaree still used?🇦🇺

    • @thatguyscomputer

      Unless the train has rubber tyres and 4wd, no as the tracks have been removed at Bungaree

    Typical June weather for this area, I see. Can wet tracks potentially be a problem?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад +2

      They can be slippery with the worst time being with light rain. The water mixes with contaminants on the head of the rail to make it greasy. After a heavier rain that washes the head of the rail, its not as slippery. 👍😊

    Driver, every now and then there is a set of tracks that start off together and then v off both directions and then stay appart about 1 foot, and after a while they v back together again? They are always inbetween the main tracks.... Can you please explain what this part of the track is for?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад +2

      They are check rails, protection just in case of a derailment. They should guide the wheels to stay generally in line with the track. They are usually at bridges and overpasses 👍😊

    • @BIGBaNANaBender
      @BIGBaNANaBender Год назад +1

      @@driver667 I am not sure if we are talking about the same thing because the rails I am talking about don't come close to the actual tracks, it's like a small set of tracks in-between the actual tracks and they would have to be too far away from the train wheels to make any contact with them? Sorry about not understanding what they are.

    • @BIGBaNANaBender

    • @Aviumkeeper
