Same. I was stunned when I first heard it back in 1970 and same now. Listening to this on headphones is a trip. So much detail and so expertly crafted. Add to that the fantastic lyrics, oh my.
This and Conquistador from the live in Edmonton are breathtaking. There’s a full symphony and choir. Whaling Stories is also on there and it makes you feel you are on that ship hunting Whales.
RIP Gary Brooker. This is timely because of his recent passing. A great voice! I love the originals (Whiter Shade, Conquistador, etc.) but I also enjoy the full orchestral accompaniment (Denmark, 2006, I believe). And Gary’s voice still soars 50 years after recording it! Procol Harum had a mystery or story in the lyrics and a baroque classical vibe but also had Gary’s soulful voice. Another request checked off my list - I was going to request Whiter Shade of Pale with orchestra. Thanks for this request and reaction! ✨🤪
@@rk41gator I hear it especially in this song. It is a deliberate, paused delivery that builds drama. And especially with this melody of majors, minors and sevenths together that create a mood. Thanks rk. ✨🤪
I saw them at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago in '70. Stunning f'ing band. Robin Trower guitar player in the band, the successor to Hendrix. Having been a professional bass player since 1969, it amazes me the stunning lack of knowledge you young people of today have of musical history. Nowadays, these young rock cats have to continuously reinvent the wheel cause they don't know what came before them. We stand on the shoulders of giants.
Wonderful song. Haven’t heard this in a long time. Check out Conquistador too in addition to Whiter Shade of Pale. Procol Harum also did In Held Twain was I ,which is considered the first progressive epic. Transatlantic, on SMPTe, did a very good and very different cover of this song.

hey, guys, I'm so glad you finally did a Procol Harum song. They are a mix of R & B, blues, rock, pop and 'proto-prog'. "A Whiter Shade of Pale' is THE song of 1967 and probably one of the greatest singles ever. Robin Trower started in Procol Harum before becoming a 70s guitar hero (you have done reaction videos for a couple of his solo tracks). They fit somewhere in between later Beatles, Traffic, the Zombies, the Moody Blues, early epic Pink Floyd (think Saucerful of Secrets and Atom Heart Mother) and early progressive like the less heavy and more melodic bits of early King Crimson, Yes, Genesis. They are centered on combining piano and Hammond organ simultaneously in the band, mixing r&b and Bach, so you can see their influence on early progressive. It's not about how fast they play, instead, they have very clever and sophisticated classical and romantic chord changes, meaningful lyrics, and beautiful melodies. For heavier 'proggy' Procol Harum, I recommend "Whaling Stories" off the "Home" LP, or the live version of "Conquistador" with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. It is perfect time you did a reaction for their singer/songwriter/pianist, Gary Brooker, just passed the other week. Their name is a misspelling of Procul Harum, a loose translation from Latin meaning "beyond these things". The band had a resident poet for their lyricist, so their lyrics are much higher quality than usual rock lyrics. So requests = "A Whiter Shade of Pale" , "Whaling Stories", or "Conquistador." If you want to react to their proto-prog album length song, I highly recommend "In Held 'Twas I" from their Shine on Brightly LP. I know you guys love progressive rock, Procol Harum is 1st generation progressive!
I saw them do this under a starry sky at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra in about 1971. One of my best concert memories. I would highly recommend the live 2006 Denmark version of Whiter Shade of Pale for your reaction. I would love to see that!
The Denmark videos offer some rethinking of thir songs, some of Brooker's sense of humor, and, let's face it, these songs just improve with age. I like to think of some intelligent being living in a remote star system deciphering faint radio transmissions from Earth a thousand years hence.
Good selection. I've always liked Gary Brooker's voice. As others have said "Conquistador" is a good one to check out. And "Whiter Shade of Pale" also.
Denmark 2006 performance of 'Whiter Shade of Pale' is perfect for showing Lex the song, and also giving Nick something new as well. 'Conquistador' is also highly recommended.
Bless you two! I1 am 65 and I love this song. I remember playing darts in the garage at around 17 or 18 years old and I played my 45 vinyl of Procol Harum's Conquistador, my favorite song at the time. I didn't listen to the backside for almost 5 years when I finally played Salty Dog. I was stunned at the sheer beauty and tragedy in the song. I quickly wore out both sides of the record. My background is classical piano so my ear loves great music. To see you two react to every measure and line made me cry because you hear the same things I heard. Thank you so much. I am now a subscriber!
Those three pieces, Whiter Shade, Conquistador and Hamburg are all excellent examples of Procal Harum Definitely the live Danish Orchestra version for Whiter Shade... It was a mind blowing piece of beauty when it first hit the airwaves and it stands the test of time. Enjoy the tales ... they are consument storytellers.
The Live Version of This Song is Amazing - The Live Album itself [with The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra] is one of The Greatest Live Albums ever released 😍😍😍😍😍
I swear I thought you had reacted to this before -- must have been in a dream. There's a live performance at an outdoor venue in Denmark available on RUclips, complete with orchestra and choir, that is just incredible. So, when you feel the need to tap on "repeat," maybe slide on over and give it a watch. Procol Harum was a bit of an odd fit to the music that was coming out of the late '60s into the '70s. Very British, a little bit of proto-prog, gathering influences from folk, classical, rock, and R&B. Brooker's voice is unique, I think, in popular music. Alas, he died just a few weeks ago. Tracks you might want to listen to include "Repent Walpurgis," "Shine on Brightly," "The Devil Came from Kansas," "So Much Sea Between Us," and others the titles of which don't immediately pop to mind. Oh, of course, "A Whiter Shade of Pale." I'm so pleased that you came to "A Salty Dog" -- it's worth a tear or two.
A friend who had never heard of Procol Harum (How could that be possible? She's older than I am!) made that observation after hearing the 1972 Edmonton version of this before hearing the 2006 Denmark concert video, back to back. So many old rockers struggle, Brooker just kept getting better.
Procul Harum is an amazing band driven by the fabulous music and voice of Gary Brooker. Many believe they wrote the first Progressive rock song " A whiter shade of pale" combining Air on G String by Bach with rock, written before Sgt Peppers and released a fews days before Sgt Peppers. Curiously both Procul and the Beatles were in the same studio while recording. A whiter was released a single, and then the first album was released a few days later without a Whiter Shade of Pale in it. Years later the first album was re-release with A whiter Sade of Pale in it. Gary Broker just passed away after battling Cancer.
The string arrangement on this song is nothing short of epic: A masterclass in "How It's Done". Gary Brooker's voice graced our lives for over 50 years; truly a treasure for all to enjoy and thanks to modern recording for preserving it for eternity. The live performance of "A Salty Dog" from Denmark in 2006 is so hauntingly beautiful, and Lex definitely needs to hear and react to "A Whiter Shade of Pale": A classic for all time. Love you guys !!!
Hi guys, Wonderful vocalist Gary Brooker recently lost to us. Comments already mention live version of Whiter Shade Of Pale so I'll mention the lead guitarist > Robin Trower. Checkout his solo albums - inc' "Bridge Of Sighs" & "Twice Removed From Yesterday" > There is also a live album from 1975 > the track "Daydream" is pure utter bliss. Robin's use of the sustain is ohhhh soooo good ! The studio version is great , but this live version is on another level ! If you ever play anything by Robin Trower, you need to hear this. Album is simply called Robin Trower Live. [ dated 1975 ] Great reaction to Salty Dog. Thankyou.
You guys definitely hitting a sweet spot with this reaction....... And another band I've not paid nearly enough attention to in recent years. This album was amongst my first pocket money album purchases all those years ago, and your reaction has sparked me to re listen.. Thank you.. Cheers Bob... 👍👍👍👍👍
Great Choice👍 The stars have aligned...Conquistador was recorded in my original hometown, in Nov. of '71. It also included the ESO, our cities orchestra, which made it even better! I've always loved this song! Gary Brooker, their late, great vocalist, just passed, on Feb. 17. A good friend of mine, who literally called, only a few minutes ago, cites A Salty Dog, as one of his VERY favourite songs/albums. I know people who were at both the original concert & it's 25th Anniversary show. 🇨🇦
you should watch the live version from the 2006 concert in Denmark, it is heavenly; also from the same concert, The Grand Hotel will leave you speechless, the perfect mix of symphony, choir and rock !!!!
Gary Brooker, the voice of Procol Harum, just passed away last month. He co-wrote all their songs with lyricist Keith Reid who is credited as a member of the band and typically featured in group photos even though he didn’t sing or play on the albums. Procol Harum’s Whiter Shade Of Pale is often cited as an inspiration by early progressive bands
Gary Brooker as you noted, had an amazingly distinctive soulful voice. Procol Harum his band, had a classical basis to their music which people readily picked up on and that set them apart from other rock groups. Their monster hit Whiter Shade of Pale I believe was based on a Bach composition at least that's what I recall my college music teacher saying. But whatever was the song's true origin, my teacher immediately recognized the melody as being an adaptation from a well known classical composer. Along these lines, few people know that Ave Maria is from Bach's Well Tempered Clavier body of music as adapted by Charles Gounod. Intentionally or not, borrowing has always thrived in music.....
Check out the gorgeous piano on the last song on their masterpiece, "A Salty Dog" album, called "The Wreck of the Hesperus". It's as beautiful a melody as in any of their great songs. Talk about feeling like you're at sea! Then check out, "Magdeline, My Regal Zonaphone" from their great "Shine On Brightly" album.
Of course you know 'a whiter shade of pale', everybody has heard this song unless you come from outer space. Procol Harum was so much more than a one-hit band. Their music has nurtured my mind since 1968 (I was 10 then!),and still does today. You should check out 'Grand Hotel' for a glimpse of European nostalgia! This band has changed my life!
That was really cool. Like Nick I had only heard Whiter Shade of Pale. I knew that Robin Trower was from this band, but never explored them. The balance of the melody and chord structure reminds me of early Genesis for some reason. Gary Brooker's voice is fantastic. He passed away last month, but certainly left a legacy of great music, just based on these two songs that I've heard so far. I'd love a reaction to Shade of Pale. More tears will be forthcoming. 💜
I'd recommend trying out tracks from their album Grand Hotel, which is a concept album and into Prog territory. If you do, just start with the title track which is first, longest, and excellent. Drummer, BJ Wilson, was amazing.
Please react to A Whiter Shade of Pale from 2006 with a Danish orchestra and choir. Many reactors have watched this video without issues. Gary Brooker, leader/pianist/vocalist, sounded great nearly 40 years after he released this song during the “Summer of Love” in 1967. The song called Conquistador has lyrics that you need to hear, given your background in Mexico. I think that any version of Conquistador is a winner. Enjoy! We lost Gary just recently. RIP Gary.
First off who writes a song like this of sailors and pirates, and tells a story at the same time. Second the lead singers voice is so damn good as well as so different. Third this was the band Robin Trower started with. Lastly it is one of my favorite songs ever!!! Well done!
If you do Whiter Shade of Pale, you should check out the Live in Denmark 2006 version. An absolute masterpiece performance, I guarantee you will be BLOWN AWAY !!
"The Wreck of the Hesperus" is another fine Procol Harum (PROcul HAIRum) composition, lively and rollicking melody and a text that defies deciphering. "Repent Walpurgis" is a brooding sort of instrumental _chaconne_ which works the Bach Prelude number one from book one of _The Well-Tempered Clavier_ in as an episode in the middle. "Mabel" is another fun nonsense-type blues song, a lot of fun. This group was immensely talented. Though changes in personnel through the years could have dimmed their appeal, but instead only brightened it. Gary Brooker's voice only improved with his age, perhaps more mellow toward the end, but never diminished, one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time.
I have loved Procol Harum for decades but all the videos on Tube seem to just show A whiter shade of pale until now so thanks for playing this little masterpiece. I would strongly urge you to review the DVD of Live at Union Chapel and from all the great songs on there try ‘Quite Rightly So’ and especially ‘Weisselklenzenacht’. Keep up the good work
You should listen to/watch the Orchestral 'Live in Denmark 2006' version of 'A Whiter Shade of Pale' so that you both have a performance not experienced before - Gary Brooker is captivating; Singer/songwriter/pianist/'The Commander', who died a month ago, age 76. R.I.P - My musical idol. Such an underappreciated band, Procol Harum is a treasure trove of delights for those who like their music to have solid structure, intelligence and integrity but none of the pretentiousness of much of the prog stuff they were forerunners of.
Robin Trower was the guitarist for Procul Harum. I would urge you to go deeper on the Bridge of Sighs album. I recommend A Little Bit of Sympathy, Bridge of Sighs and It's About to Begin.
A short time after 'A Whiter Shade of Pale' was released, there was a break-up of sorts that opened the door for Robin Trower to join. He was with Procol Harum from late 1967 to 1971 when he left to create his own group. I believe you have reacted to one of his tunes. But, if you hadn't, 'Too Rollin Stoned' would be a good start.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Procol Harum, the finest band ever in my opinion. You must do A Whiter shade of pale with the Danish orchestra 2006.There are many great song to listen to only a handful of song that aren't excellent. Having seen them live 8 times the news of Gary Brooker's passing was so sad. Please do more of them you won't regret it and I've seen many fine songs mentioned by others in the comments
“In Held ‘Twas In I” is trippy and can be done on a marathon. I think the parts are under 20 minutes total. “Well, my son, life is like a beanstalk, isn’t it!?” ✨🤪
Always loved this song and just recently listened to it for the first time in decades upon the passing of Gary Brooker. Another great British band for you to explore! I second the commenter who suggested you listen to The Moody Blues-"Ride My Seesaw" would be a great introduction!
Love it. Y’all must listen to Whiter Shade of Pale live in Denmark 2006…it’s a symphonic masterpiece, and Gary Brooker (RIP) sounds maybe even better than he did 40 years earlier. Possibly the most moving live performance ever for me, personally.
Great choice, nice reaction! If this, and Whiter Shade are their only songs you’ve heard, you might not think they’re a rock band! But they are, especially the 1st 5 albums with Robin Trower on guitar. I think this song is based on “Pitcairn’s Island”, the third volume of the Mutiny On The Bounty trilogy. Check out Procol’s “Cerdes” 😺👍
There are so many great songs from Procol Harum (hair-um). Please check out Shine on Brightly, Quite Rightly So, Whaling Stories, Fires Which Burnt Brightly & Grand Hotel to start. Since you liked Salty Dog, you will like almost everything they have recorded. There’s also a great recent RUclips video of them playing with the Danish Orchestra & choir! Also, their music is timeless. The more you listen to them, the more you like them. Enjoy!
I'm so glad you Two got to hear this Song. It has always stirred me. Btw, Transatlantic does an amazing, geniusly executed, and faithful Cover of this Song.
You need to listen to and watch their live version in Denmark of A Whiter Shade of Pale with an orchestra and choir. Maybe the best ever version of that 1967 original.
It could be argued that Procol Harum was the "1st" Progressive Rock band, and their 1st "track" release "Whiter Shade of Pale" was released 4 days before The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper" album in 1967 (May 12 - Whiter Shade of Pale - May 16 - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band). This pre-dates the releases of Pink Floyd (their debut; "A Saucer Full of Secrets", who were recording at EMI at the same time the Beatles for Sgt. Pepper) in August of 67, and King Crimson's debut ("In the Court of the Crimson King" October 10, 1969). Whiter Shade of Pale became a HUGE hit for them and is still a staple on AOR FM radio. The band debuted with the single, and in September 1, 1967, with their debut self-titled album. They were also considered a "Psychedelic" band, but had matured into a more Progressive Rock band. *Robin Trower* was their guitarist until the 5th album. Procol were infusing Classical, Blues, R&B and Soul music into their brand of Rock, and conceptual themes would be prevalent. On their second album, the track "In Held 'Twas in I" was over 17 minutes long (which has been covered by Transatlantic, as well as "A Salty Dog"), Vocalist Gary Brooker had made the comment that the track and concept was so long, he was originally going to entitle it; "Magnum Harum" :D. I had NO IDEA that *Gary Brooker* (founder, keyboardist and vocalist - the only constant member) had just died in February 2022 :'(. I have watched a few interviews with him, so having him fresh in my memory was like "seeing him around", very sad. They don't get the credit they deserve, and have been passed up to be inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame as a band (but their single _Whiter Shade of Pale_ was inducted in the "singles" category). Mike Portnoy has talked about them a few times, and where I 1st heard the opinion that he considers Procol Harum the 1st Progressive Rock band (and the BBC Documentary; "Prog Rock Britannia"), along with other critics and fans of the genre on various forums. HIGHLY recommended - BBC Prog Rock Britannia: ruclips.net/video/QSqb-IJZHrs/видео.html Whiter Shade of Pale is such a grand beautiful track, which takes me back to my childhood. It made sense that later in life, I foundout that the "familiarity" of the melody was from Johann. S. Bach's "Air" from his Orchestral Suite No. 3 BWV1068, (the "Air on the G string"). Its definitely a tear-jerker that I KNOW will pull at Lexi's heartstrings too :). A REALLY good Heavy Rock version was done by "Hagar Schon Aaronson Shrieve (HSAS)", which you guys have their only album "Through the Fire". Neal Schon emulates the Hammond Organ melodies on Guitar and makes it soar. They do a great job bringing it into a contemporary Rock sound. - Great request guys and reaction, thanks Arnie! I hope more to come. Rest in Peace Gary Brooker (29 May 1945 - 19 February 2022)
Thank you, Nick & Lex, for diving into one of my lesser known favorite bands, Procol Harem, and uncovering this little gem of a composition. I remember discovering Procol Harem in 1973, before any of my musical buddies were even aware of the band's existence. But once I got a taste of their musical style, that's when I started my search into their prior works, which meant hunting down & sifting through the side-street second-hand record shops for their previous releases, going back to their debut album in September of 1967. By the way, if you're up for listening to one of their entire albums, I would definitely suggest "Grand Hotel". It's overall a pretty solid album, with maybe only a couple of less-than-epic songs, but still a generally great listen. It was released in March of 1973, and in my humble opinion, it represented the pinnacle of their musical creativity, which the UK Music Press raved about at that time.
You guys should hear the 1971 Live with Edmonton Symphony Orchestra version of the song. It was the best version for me. It has a tad faster tempo, livelier acoustics and grander outro..
Lex should probably react to the 2006 Live in Denmark version of A Whiter Shade Of Pale. Gary Brooker (vocalist) sang an Alan Parsons Project track called Limelight. Sadly, he passed away just a month ago...
You should listen to A whiter shade of pale original version, and Conquistador with the Edmonton Symphonic Orchestra. Also one of their great masterpices Repent Walpurgis from the Original LP.
An epic song - Salty Dog. Love it, and of course Lex should react to 'Whiter Shade of Pale'. It might be one of those songs that she recognizes but never knew who created it. Cheers and Thanks guys. 😎👍🍁
Unfortunately, guitarist Robin Trower joined the group just after Whiter Shade Of Pale" was recorded. On this album, he is featured on some other songs such as "The Devil Came From Kansas" and "Juicy John Pink". He plays a bigger role in the 1970 album Home on songs like "Whiskey Train", "Whaling Stories", "Still There'll Be More", and "Piggy Pig Pig".
Gary Brooker the front man of Procol Harum has only just recently passed away. RIP Gary another great loss.

Love Procol Harum. ' In held twas in I' is the definitive epic from this band. Truly stunning 😍
Gary Brooker's voice is truly a brilliant, golden instrument all its own. He does subtle and epic equally well.
Listen also to Salty dog from a consert in Denmark in 2006. Forty years later Gary's voice is even better.

Definitely the live Danish Orchestra version for Whiter Shade... It was a mind blowing piece of beauty when it first hit the airwaves and it stands the test of time. Enjoy the tales ...
they are consument storytellers.
Don't forget "As Strong As Samson"
Grand Hotel, Quite Rightly So
British band came to Canada and recorded with the Edmonton symphony
Conquistador is a must hear
A beautiful piece of music and a truly haunting and terrific voice. Thanks for doing this one.
My favorite from that album I bought it when it first came out
So happy you played it and reacted to it‼️
The Live Version of This Song is Amazing - The Live Album itself [with The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra] is one of The Greatest Live Albums ever released 😍😍😍😍😍
Read the cover and liner notes of that album.
That's the best version from Denmark.
The late Gary Brooker had a great voice! They never really got the respect they deserved. The drummer was awesome!
RIP Gary Brooker. His voice got better as he got older, or so it seems 💕
Positively!!!
Great memory Nick - check out their live performance of 'Whiter Shade of Pale' - Lex will love it as you say!
I agree. You should really check out this live performance of a Whiter schade of pale from Denmark 2006.
Yes the music will live on
Hi guys, Wonderful vocalist Gary Brooker recently lost to us.
One more thing, the great Gary Brooker of Procol Harum died just a couple of weeks ago. He will be sorely missed
Great Choice👍
The stars have aligned...Conquistador was recorded in my original hometown, in Nov.
Very first concert I went to 1973 love em to this day.
great recording......BJ Wilsons drums sound amazing ....(not to mention Gary's voice lol)
Saw Gary Brooker when he joined Ringo and his All-Stars and he did both "Whiter Shade of Pale" and "Conquistador" live!!
HIS VOICE GOT BETTER AS HE GOT OLDER!!!!!
P Harum is one of my favorite bands and Grand Hotel the best record they made!!!
RIP Gary Brooker, such a talent.
You must listen to more,I promise from your comments you will enjoy them immensely
I'd recommend trying out tracks from their album Grand Hotel, which is a concept album and into Prog territory. If you do, just start with the title track which is first, longest, and excellent. Drummer, BJ Wilson, was amazing.
@Bookhouse Boy BJ has never got accolades that he certainly earned. His drumming on Rocky Horror is smoking.
A less well known song on that album but equally anthemic is the Wreck of the Hesperus
RIP Gary.
Procol Harum falls into that same symphonic prog/psychedelia bucket as Renaissance and a handful of others.
First off who writes a song like this of sailors and pirates, and tells a story at the same time. Second the lead singers voice is so damn good as well as so different. Third this was the band Robin Trower started with. Lastly it is one of my favorite songs ever!!! Well done!
Try "Conquistador " live from Edmonton. That version is the one we heard on the radio :)
After an earlier warning "Let no one leave alive" Gary clearly sings "... and no one left alive." No wonder this song is dramatic and somber.
“Well, my son, life is like a beanstalk, isn’t it!?” ✨🤪
Excellent song
John Lennon when asked once said the greatest voice in rock-'n'-roll was Gary Brooker.
Always loved this song and just recently listened to it for the first time in decades upon the passing of Gary Brooker. Another great British band for you to explore! I second the commenter who suggested you listen to The Moody Blues-"Ride My Seesaw" would be a great introduction!
so intricate, and so different from their hit Whiter Shade of Pale. Beautiful composition.
GARY BROOKER! CHECK OUT HIS CONCERT in DENMARK! I LOVE HIM!❤
Such a great voice Gary Brooker and such a great loss. Beautiful! Elegiac! He and Steve Winwood are similar in style and timbre.
I had this album in college. RIP Gary Booker.
This song still sounds fresh. I always loved it.
a masterpiece
Procol Harum have been making a lot of us emotional for a long time. This is one is my favorite by them. Thanks!😢🌊⛵🙂🤙
HIGHLY recommended - BBC Prog Rock Britannia: ruclips.net/video/QSqb-IJZHrs/видео.html
Whiter Shade of Pale is such a grand beautiful track, which takes me back to my childhood.
I think your argument for Procil being the first prog band is valid. How did I not hear that Gary Brooker had passed? WHAT a singer!!!
Many great compositions from this group. If you like Procol Harum, I would also suggest selections from the Moody Blues.
Yes! Ride My Seesaw would be a great introduction!
Nick, it has to be said...you are fortunate to have the very beautiful, attractive and nurturing Lex in your life :)
First Heard This Song
When I Was 13.
Guess When I Hit Puberty
My Good Taste in Music
Kicked in.
Now My Taste is
Downright Eclectic !!! 🎼🤠🎼😎🎼✌
Repent Walpurgis is my favorite Procul Harum song. This song has one of the all-time great guitar solos by Robin Trower
Their first 2 albums are wonderful - Procol Harum (1967) & Shine On Brightly (1968)
Lex should probably react to the 2006 Live in Denmark version of A Whiter Shade Of Pale. Gary Brooker (vocalist) sang an Alan Parsons Project track called Limelight. Sadly, he passed away just a month ago...
Amazing, simply amazing.❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜 Released in 1969
great album / band
Amazing. I thought I was about one in a thousand people who had even heard this song. You have some great viewers with eclectic tastes.
Those who don't know Procol Harum songs are missing out big time, my favourite band
You should listen to A whiter shade of pale original version, and Conquistador with the Edmonton Symphonic Orchestra. Also one of their great masterpices Repent Walpurgis from the Original LP.
I absolutely love this song, awesome 👏
An epic song - Salty Dog. Love it, and of course Lex should react to 'Whiter Shade of Pale'. It might be one of those songs that she recognizes but never knew who created it. Cheers and Thanks guys. 😎👍🍁
Arnie has good taste. This choice and Quadrophenia.... some of the cream of the era.
R.i.p Gary ❤️
Unfortunately, guitarist Robin Trower joined the group just after Whiter Shade Of Pale" was recorded. On this album, he is featured on some other songs such as "The Devil Came From Kansas" and "Juicy John Pink". He plays a bigger role in the 1970 album Home on songs like "Whiskey Train", "Whaling Stories", "Still There'll Be More", and "Piggy Pig Pig".
