I have to say, not a bad video at all. Not convinced that was a 500W PSU though but it worked which is the main thing. I'd have found up an old pair of stereo speakers, one's already in a box, or made boxes for those. Audio would sound way better.
Nice step by step ! Of course one would have to use that type of old dvd to get this to work . The power supply also makes a great work bench power supply for 12 V and 5 v projects and with 500 watt potential that is pretty good . :O)

Meu! Pra quê essa Dor-de-Cabeça é ainda correndo o risco de estragar a plaquinha do CD-ROM e perder tudo. Ligue a Fonte de PC (12 Volts - 5 Volts) e retire a saída de áudio da saída para Read-Phone que fica no painel do CD-ROM e melhor com controle de volume. Muito simples, prático e funcional. Abraço.

1. CD audio jack is LO-FI 12 bit DAC output; 2. Speakers without a case is a bad idea; 3. using +5 for an amplifier is not optimal decision, +/-12 wil be better one, but -12 line has a very small current)

I wouldn't use a computer CD ROM where I think there are some remaining radio/ CD players already from car stereos to boomboxes out there that immediately have a left and right speaker connection to be a boombox standalone with a power supply design. I haven't engineered with them since my truck with a CD player still runs and I haven't messed with other cars recycled CD players built in with radio stations from car stereo systems. I've done many 120 VAC to 0, 5, 9 and 12 V DC power supplies projects to not have a stereo system from a car 12 V DC limitation. Then speakers to car speakers are the same to a standalone living room amplifier stereo system speakers.

It would be simpler, more modulable, with no ATX and/or CD drive modifications, to simply make the ampflification/speakers external (powered by one molex of the ATX for example) ???
Like putting the amp and the speakers in 2 separate boxes, like any standard external PC speakers...
Where is your video on how to do this "Simpler" modification? If you have a better way, then show us, or otherwise, STFU.
