They were co-habitng to co-parent their children while going through a divorce. Her mistake was not waiting for the divorce to be finalised before starting a relationship with Jonathan. According to her, apart from the sexting (?), she had only kissed/ given him "a peck". Tragic.

I do not believe she is in any way innocent when she drove hundreds of miles in separate cars and at no point attempted to escape at all. She was in on it to save her marriage because she was caught cheating. When she realized they would be caught, she realized she could make the husband foot all the blame so took the abuse story all the way to court. All the comments here are terrible. You really do not know the pain and the fear you experience when you are in an abusive relationship. She was beaten, choked and totally distressed and anguish on this situation, of course she was afraid of her own life and her kids lives, she was trying to survive. I’m pretty sure one of the few things that made her happy was dreaming about hang out with someone as kind as Jonathan so that’s why she texted him. I can’t believe just like that you judge this woman who was terrified and extremely abused. I don’t understand people these days, where is the empathy? I feel very sorry for her and everything she has been through, the family of Jonathan and Jonathan himself, no one deserved anything of this. That imbecile did all of this and he should be the focus. @@kweendee9626 why would you willingly involve someone else when you KNOW your husband is a violent abuser? Why do this before escaping? Why was she more afraid of escaping than of literally "cheating" on him, which right or wrong she knew would have set him off. It sounds like excuses on top of excuses to defend her utterly poor decision making, and it's because of facts like these that I don't believe she was an unwilling participant at all. All of a sudden it's "what could I have done against the big bad man" despite she willingly put both she and him in the situation, refused to help him when asked, drove miles and miles and miles on separate cars to hide evidence, and at no point whatsoever did she think to break off from him and enter a public and crowded space. I feel like she cheated, got caught, wanted to appease him(contrary to her supposedly hating him so much), and so did what she was told. When they got caught, she realized how easy it would be to make him foot all of the blame, so did.
She was never a victim imo.
