@malcolmcox - No, I've never once considered that... because that would defeat the entire purpose of the show... Which was me riding coasters, and sharing *my* experiences with you. Not someone else's.
GLENNtheTOOL - You would be correct there. We use my two Canon cameras - my Elura100 for the primary angle, and my digital-still, S3-IS for the reverse-POV perspective. However, the S3-IS was not used at all in these two New England videos. - Jon
xox945 - How were you supposed to know? Well... for one, it's posted EVERY WHERE - and two... we've had new episodes of the microwave twice a week for two years... and they've only ever been on Mondays & Fridays. But more importantly... why click on something if you don't think you'll like it? - Jon
hziggles - Right... you subscribed to me for a reason: You like the content I produce and want to watch more of it. And... I'm producing the exact content that is on the channel schedule, on the exact day I said I would. - Jon
r32adt3db - The video was two minutes... actually. And the graphics "and shit" were just there because this video was produced as part of an existing series... where all of flash seemed to make a bit more sense. - Jon
JPizzle1122, it don't matter if you didn't shoot any videos of the coaster rides. I really enjoyed watching all the others you have shot. And I want to thank you very much for posting them.
jon, a real bummer you were not able to film the big rides at six flags new england like bizarro, batman and the mind eraser roller coasters . my home park is six flags new england(we live 25 minutes car ride from agawam,mass. would have been great vids. you guys have to be more discreet and crafty about hiding your cameras. good luck on that.
Wish you guys could have filmed more of the coasters at 6 Flags New England. I've been on I think all of them unless they've gotten any new ones in the past year. Superman (or bizarro as it's apparently now called), batman, and the mind eraser would have been awesome to watch.
these things r hard. but i have a friend that worked at a park that had this and what u do is u lay flat against the ladder and wrap ur legs and arms around it and basically crawl and keep ur weight balanced. love the vids
Bring it back!! Small suggestion: the ending clip you used was great. maybe you can use that & other similar compilations from past & previous videos. also try a different park (if you can find 1 that's not six flags. they're taking over!!) like one of the piers on the NJ Shore in Seaside Heights or Great Escape in Lake George NY
I think you're allowed to bring cameras on Cedar Points' Rolercoasters, If you don't want them out you stick them in this little front pocket they have in in the cars, then you just zip it up! Maybe you could do a series on that!
If you ever get as far south as MD, Hit the Six Flags in Prince Georges County. The Mind Eraser Rocks, and the Batwing ride is the smoothest Coaster ride I've ever been on.
The problem is that you're treating it like a ladder and trying to climb in the middle of the rungs. The key is to treat it like a rope and climb the sides, only using the rungs for support.
The trick is to only climb the outside of the ladder, meaning don't use the rungs, only ropes. Then advance left hand, right foot, right hand left foot.
I think it wasn't a great Idea to go on Blizzard River, Because most water rides have park staff patroling them while Roller Coasters usually don't. So I think if you just stick with coasters you'll be fine. Also you could go to other places other than Six Flags who don't have very stupid recording rules
can't believe that they woun't let ya film the rides...and they let you do it at magic mountain...next 6 flags you guys should go to is ohio...you'll have to do that this summer...or go to cedar point for some thrill rides like the thop hill dragster... oh and a side note...that tram worker deffinately hated workin at 6 flags...you could tell it in his voice
i think its cause they want u to experience the ride for yourself and they dont want people posting it to youtube (like this!) haha idk.. its really weird..
You guys should go to the 6 Flags in St. Louis! Screamin' Eagle, Batman, Mr. Freeze, you'll love it! Key secret to the ladder. . . . stay balanced in the middle of it. It's not too hard after you get balanced. Also, keep your hands on both sides with equal weight on each hand.
the tick is alternate left foot -right hand , then left hand-right foot. Always at the same time so your body weight is the same on both sides of the ladder.
Now that the show is back you should try to get permission to film at Six Flags NE, you have fancy rigs that are at least mostly safe for coaster use. Worst case scenario you have whoever you go with or yourself hide the chest cam under a button up shirt and sneak it out during the climbs. :P
That'd be a good idea if you are able to go to Hersheypark. I hear the Fahrenheit is outstanding, though I was too scared to go on it when I was there.
I tried this and I failed myself. I have seen a person win this though. The trick is the put the feet on the Edge of the ropes to maintain balance. Do the same with your arms. You have to shift the weight you have on each step. I remember here at my home themepark people kept saying "this is rigged" and the guy who is in charge of money/prizes actually did this and completed it. Sorry I didn't film it but believe me I have seen someone win this.
You know, I've done this ladder thing before, and I found that if you tip over but you're still holding on, they still count it if you make it to the top!!
Try balancing it out, grab both ends of the wood parts of the ladder and try stepping in the very middle as you progress. When it wobbles, use your arms to even it out and then continue to climb once it calms down. Going slowly also helps a bit. And yeah, try to keep all 4 of your your limbs on the ladder. xD
Keep in mind that on blizzard river and other water rides you have park attendants every so often to make sure no one drowns. I say hide a camera in a sweatshirt, figure out where the photo is, and take it on. Hell the worst they do is give you a warning and you don't film anything else. Better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.
Now a days, they actually have a guy DO this game, to show you how it's done.. you can watch him complete it himself. You gotta climb opposite leg/arm when moving. (if you move your right arm up, move the left leg up with it. that's the trick.
Because I was making fun of the park... as they are also from New England. It was a joke. Why did you leave this comment on this video, and not the original?
Sure, some of the lower-intensity rides will allow them to use spy glasses or something, bbut things like Kingda Ka, TTD, Millenium Force, etc will not allow even glasses on the ride, so we would miss those :(
I got the Riddler - California - on film... was going to film Tatsu, yet remembered at the last second the negative-g turn, and that positive pushes you in to the seat, negative throws you out. There's quite a bit of RUclips coaster vids out now... of almost every coaster.
one of the tricks to it is stay on the edges of the ladder to keep balance but you gotta do it like in a way cuz if you lift your feet off on itll tip over but you gott keep it balanced on the sides it doenst guarentee victory but it helps
~~~ nice flexatone lol I have one of those ladder things built in my back yard for practice, and falling hurts more (insensitive lol) that and stacker I have been studying for a few months
i've won a big spongebob by doing that ladder climb! I was really close to the bell, and at the same time i was falling/twisting, I was able to ring the bell still with feet on the ladder, hence my winning... it's actually not that bad only at the end where you really need to balance yourself out by moving your right foot at the same time as your left hand
Don't worry, I don't have the balls to set foot on most of the rides at such parks. I have very little faith in the safety of the machines, though this fear may be unfounded.
this thing is easier than it looks... next time u see one of those try this: right arm moves with left leg.. to keep ur center of the body balanced.. so when u move ur right hand towards the next step, the left leg should be used to go ahead,, and then the left arm.. with the right leg.. continue and get urself a teddy :D :P
Go to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. We have GREAT coasters. Appolo's Chariot is there...that's the one where Fabio had his nose broken by a flying bird during the innaugural ride.
I posted this on one of your previous vids, it may make the quality lack, but install a small camera in a pair of sunglasses like Kipkay teaches in one of his videos, or hell, get one of those Flip Mino HD things, cut a hole in your shirt pocket, set it to record and hope for the best :)
i'm SOOOORRYYY! im not a major roller coaster fanatic and last time i heard the dragster was tallest and fastest. either way cedar point still has some pretty wicked rides.
LOL cool to see Jory with you at Six Flags. They have a rope ladder thing at a Medieval time festival where I live and instead of a nice blow up bed. They use hay I can't remember doing it buy my friends have they get hay all over then. LOL
it is VERY hard indeed, unless you manage to balance each foot in the direct center of each rung, then you are ok, and pray to the heavens that your body stays perfectly still while moving, no jolts or anything, thus, the theory of carnival games being rigged, a.k.a. "i call shenanigans on the ladder climb!"
my friend actually made it to the red rung but they didnt tell her that she had 2 get her feet on it until she was about to get off so she lost her balance and was upside down for a lil bit b4 she let go
I know it's a little late to tell you this..but if you grab onto the ropes on the edge instead of the rungs you're almost guaranteed to win. I won 3 times in 1 day like this. Grab onto the ropes and place your feet on them to equal out the weight and pressure.
Best Roller Coaster Videos ever. I now know what its like the ride the rides at six flags.
bring back the show! It's what makes my life worth LIVING
I like how you showed the rollercoaster and then showed you guys on the ladder. This is funny!
LOL I remember that game! At Kings Island, you're not allowed to hold on. This 8 year old kid did it and won a giant Knuckles doll. xD
@malcolmcox - No, I've never once considered that... because that would defeat the entire purpose of the show...
Which was me riding coasters, and sharing *my* experiences with you. Not someone else's.
- Jon
This is the most exciting episode ever!
hziggles - Right... you subscribed to me for a reason:
You like the content I produce and want to watch more of it. And... I'm producing the exact content that is on the channel schedule, on the exact day I said I would.
- Jon
youve givin me the courage to ride all of the coasters at darien lake... thanks
r32adt3db - The video was two minutes... actually.
And the graphics "and shit" were just there because this video was produced as part of an existing series... where all of flash seemed to make a bit more sense.
- Jon
i love how the ad is A CPR COARSE FOR FREE
and you guys are trying to tackle a coaster!
JPizzle1122, it don't matter if you didn't shoot any videos of the coaster rides. I really enjoyed watching all the others you have shot. And I want to thank you very much for posting them.
Thanks for posting these videos!! They were AWESOME!!!! Now i'm really going to six flags!!!
AHH! WE THE KINGS!!! I LOVE WE THE KINGS! and SECRET VALENTINE!! If i was there and that came on id screm! lol
jon, a real bummer you were not able to film the big rides at six flags new england like bizarro, batman and the mind eraser roller coasters . my home park is six flags new england(we live 25 minutes car ride from agawam,mass. would have been great vids. you guys have to be more discreet and crafty about hiding your cameras. good luck on that.
saddasdas2 - Actually... I've only been to a few. All of these videos were recorded on only a couple of visits.
- Jon
Alekh12345 - I don't see how... but I can assure you, Jory is definitely straight.
- Jon
Man, I'm going to miss Roller Coaster Commotion.
LoL epic fail on the ladder
This series was actually funny for the lack of Roller Coaster episodes.
Yay for new series!
Wish you guys could have filmed more of the coasters at 6 Flags New England. I've been on I think all of them unless they've gotten any new ones in the past year. Superman (or bizarro as it's apparently now called), batman, and the mind eraser would have been awesome to watch.
No, I lost the same game at an amusement park near my house and the operator demonstrated the way to win and explained it to us after we all failed.
these things r hard. but i have a friend that worked at a park that had this and what u do is u lay flat against the ladder and wrap ur legs and arms around it and basically crawl and keep ur weight balanced. love the vids
XkisamaruX - Yeah... we're both on the microwave show.
- Jon
iPhoneandiPodHELP - Sure are, just like it says on my profile.
- Jon
I love that show!
I like these videos better than the rollercoaster vids. You guys should do more Carnival games videos.
I think it wasn't a great Idea to go on Blizzard River, Because most water rides have park staff patroling them while Roller Coasters usually don't. So I think if you just stick with coasters you'll be fine. Also you could go to other places other than Six Flags who don't have very stupid recording rules
nikta10 - You had no idea I make my living from these RUclips videos... did you?
- Jon
WOOO NEW MINI SERIES
It's because the ladder is attached at only 1 point on both ends, so it can turn over VERY VERY easily.
unhooked25 - You are most welcome.
- Jon
hziggles - If you hate it... why did you watch it?
- Jon
can't believe that they woun't let ya film the rides...and they let you do it at magic mountain...next 6 flags you guys should go to is ohio...you'll have to do that this summer...or go to cedar point for some thrill rides like the thop hill dragster...
oh and a side note...that tram worker deffinately hated workin at 6 flags...you could tell it in his voice
Jory may have fail at the rope ladder, But he knows how to love and kill a microwave.
LOVE ROLLERCOASTERS
@GetMishkaBack - Nah dude... I very clearly explained why. Please pay attention.
BRING THE SHOW BACK!!!!
You guys are fun to watch.
jdx1589 - Hahah... Riverside *became* Six Flags New England. They switched names/ownership in the late 90's.
... If I recall correctly.
- Jon
because they're lame.... they didn't allow me to film rides as well...but I wasn't in new england - it was near chicago :)
i think its cause they want u to experience the ride for yourself and they dont want people posting it to youtube (like this!) haha idk.. its really weird..
You guys should go to the 6 Flags in St. Louis! Screamin' Eagle, Batman, Mr. Freeze, you'll love it!
i think tht was the best footage i every saw from u guys lol.but u got some good vides
NEW England... there's a difference.
I played this game by the way. I got my hands on the red rung, and then it flipped over.
You know, I've done this ladder thing before, and I found that if you tip over but you're still holding on, they still count it if you make it to the top!!
i read somewhere that the trick to those is to step on the rope and NOT the ladder rungs. havent tried it but worth a shot, no?
@RosesforThorns1 - I reply to the nicer comments 9 times out of ten.
Perhaps you should read more of them?
:OO WE THE KINGS!
LOL THIS IS EPIC
you should try going to Six Flags America in Maryland. i think they'd let you film there.
you have to move right leg with left arm, and left leg with right arm to keep the weight balanced out,
Because I was making fun of the park... as they are also from New England. It was a joke.
I almost fell off this. Then I kept hanging on and went to the red one upside down.
I don't think I'll ever be able to do it again.
OMFG! my speakers didnt work so i clicked the subtitles... and they worked!
I got the Riddler - California - on film... was going to film Tatsu, yet remembered at the last second the negative-g turn, and that positive pushes you in to the seat, negative throws you out. There's quite a bit of RUclips coaster vids out now... of almost every coaster.
22th Comment; I Love Roller Coaster Commotion.
I miss this show... maybe you should go to canada's wonderland
you're most likely correct. I'm just baffled that it could take that long.
You guys should go to great adventure and do THE GREAT AMERICAN SCREAM MACHINE. It has 5 loops and 2 corkscrews it is godlike trust me.
~~~
nice flexatone lol

the trick is to move fast and keep your weight balanced...its really tough

I think that you should post more! U haven't posted in 3years!!!! Jogwheel
I'll bet that ladder is so much harder than it looks. o_o
lol
We The Kings' Secret Valentine in the background
i could just imagine,if you dont put it in the perfect spot,it gets inbalanced,and when it gets inbalanced even a lil,flip
Need those spy glasses, with the camera on the side.
i believe riverside is actually now six flags.. i thought that was the case, i may be wrong though.
I posted this on one of your previous vids, it may make the quality lack, but install a small camera in a pair of sunglasses like Kipkay teaches in one of his videos, or hell, get one of those Flip Mino HD things, cut a hole in your shirt pocket, set it to record and hope for the best :)
have you tried contacting Ceder Point about making a 3rd season?
Yes, of course.
Jogwheel i think they have like a sneak peak day where people can record i believe. just something to possibly look into. Love all your vids!
fatjacksonfan i
i'm SOOOORRYYY! im not a major roller coaster fanatic and last time i heard the dragster was tallest and fastest. either way cedar point still has some pretty wicked rides.
I've did this at a carnival before. It is practically impossible.
Great show ! PLease keep going ! :D
LOL cool to see Jory with you at Six Flags.
