Released in 91 but didn't really blow up in the states until the spring / summer of 92, this track was the catalyst for me finding the warehouse-rave scene. 30+ years later and this track still goes hard!
When i first heard this as a kid i was blown away and still. This track has so much punch and body, still kicks massive speakers around the world. 90's for life!
Me too. Harder than all the 2 Unlimted stuff we had, I only later learned this production (LA Style) was also Dutch, and I feel so stupid not recognizing the voice of the guy (popular radio dj back then) Wessel van Diepen who was behind Nakatomi, Alice Deejay and the Vengaboys. That I learned before him being the producer of this track. But the time this track got out, got to nr 1 in our charts, helped popularize (for then) more uptempo housemusic. I respect the origins, but I don't really like the clubhouse from late 80s', but to me, hardcore/gabber is the period defining my youth (early 90s' till end 90s) And this surely helped with that.
I'm 45yo, born in 1978, and i still love this timeless oldskool techno track. It was the definition of techno music back in time. The problem is that this song was before my generation. Most people who hear this, are in their 50s, and they were 20 years old kids in 1991, while my generation was for the 2000's house/club music, so i should move on with the music to fit my generation, and i shouldn't listen this one.

What is meant by the phrase "James Brown IS DEAD!" is not that the person, but his style of music, the rock music, is dead because techno has arrived, and techno had indeed spelled rock music's end, at least in Europe from that point onward.
Imagine the crowd in the club yelling "James Brown is Dead" as they are dancing to the song while strobe lights and spotlights are flashing excessively.
