  • The City of Windsor honoured four recipients with the 2023 Built Heritage Awards at the City Council meeting today. City Council traditionally recognizes excellence in long-time heritage stewardship and/or recent well-done conservation work through the presentation of the annual Built Heritage Awards, and also presents heritage designation plaques to new designated heritage properties. The following projects were recognized for their history, conservation and stewardship in this year’s ceremonies:
    • 787 Ouellette Ave, Tessonics Inc Building (Former Windsor Utilities Commission)
    o Roman & Elena Maev (Tessonics Inc)
    o Passa Architects (Joseph Passa)
    o Alliance Contractors (Chris Weller)
    • 1958-1998 Wyandotte St E, Strathcona Building
    o Rosati Group (Tony Rosati, Nick Rosati, Vince Rosati Jr.)
    • 1167 Mercer St, James L. Dunn Public School (Former International Playing Card Co.)
    o Greater Essex County District School Board
    o J.P. Thomson Architects Ltd. (Colin McDonald, Adam Wakulchik, Mark Beaulieu)
    o Haddad Morgan Associates (Will Tape)
    o Fortis Group (Joe Maertens)
    • 455 Giles Blvd E, Windsor Grove Cemetery Markers
    o Ontario Ancestors, Essex Branch Cemetery Team (Pat Clancy, David Hutchinson, Rosemary Lunau)
    o Windsor Grove Cemetery (Tony Andary)
