I just find it so much easier to save one tuber of one variety and then come spring i just propagate tip cuttings. And you can never tell the difference. With "ONE TUBER" you can get like 5 plants from stem propagation. Like when you do the pinch out, those pinched out tips if theyre not hollow will propagate easily .
I store mine in a paper bag, No Medium and I don’t lose any. Last year I used vermiculite and my tuber shriveled horribly and yes the medium was moistened first. Never again! Thank you for such great information
Thankyou! I Watching your videos before digging up mine back in June/July (aust) and following instructions to divide and store. Just gone to check and I have about 10 that have shoots and roots ❤ WOW 🎉
I’m grateful for your videos. This video is so helpful. I dug my tubers last fall, it was so cold and my soil is clay. I didn’t divide or get all the soil off before storing them. They’re starting to sprout and I need to divide them. Some are big and full of tubers I wasn’t sure how to go about cutting. Thank you.
Here is the link to the knife we use! We love it, but it does take some practice to get used to and will need to be sharpened. www.dahlias.com/dahlia-tuber-dividing-knife
You didn’t give chance at least this guy can say something . Next time don’t have people in videos if they don’t say anything you made him like a clown 🤡
Eric is such a cutie!!!
Agreed!

do you clean them before storing or store with dirt and roots?
I absolutely enjoyed your tutorial, so informative, thank you!

Wonderful!
I visited Swan Island Dahlias farm for first time this year. Want a beautiful place, and yes I already place my order for next season.
Thank you for visiting!

What do you use to sanitize your tools when dividing. Great educational video as always. Thank you. Close ups of eyes would be beneficial.
I just divided my dahlias. Do I leave them to scar the cuts a bit before storing?
I love my SWAN ISLAND DAHLIAS I received this year. They were glorious!
How do you prepare a bed to grow the dahlias
Great demo, thank you 🌺
What knife are you using?

In Canada I'm digging them out in late September
So why are we waiting 2 weeks after the first frost? Sorry lost.
Some of my tubers feel and look wet. I’m worried about rot. What can I do?
Great video thank you 😊
Eric is cute 🤭
Please include Eric in conversation or don’t bring him on screen until he has a role. Feels really rude!
