In this video, my friend Kaitie and I take a weekend trip to an off-grid cabin retreat where we stay in a beautiful A-frame cabin.

Dear Emily,I have followed your dads endevours from i think day one and can only say he is a very hard working, and clever man who looks at life in a mannor that many people wish they had taken the same path as he did.
Your efforts reflect this very much and i can see that as a family you are well on the way to being able to weather the future storms of life which we all see coming.

Looks like a fun place to use your skies if allowed, to go along the trails, or snowshoes. Love seeing all the snow and how beautiful the woods are…and it’s February?? It was 80 this past Sunday March 6…the previous week was just perfect in the day it was 70-78F. However, Mother Nature decided we needed some snow this Friday/Saturday 🙄. I’m guessing you’ll be back.💕

Solar showers in summers are just plain good for you! Keep your solar lights going with a warm 65-70 degree environment for a lifepo4 lithium (maybe a chinn 100Ah) flex solar panel with a nice mppt charge controller (a midnite?)
Good to have a backup duel fuel generator (i have inexpensive Champion) but rain water is my first big necessity and you can filter it before it hits the collection unit (works so much better for the final use filter like your Berkey or homebrew similar). Might find useful ideas in all this. Suggest hand held ham radio.
Nice to own a shotgun when scared or being safety conscious. Flare guns are a great safety if you hate guns.
Nothing can compare to spending time in a beautiful natural environment and cooking over a woodstove. It's so refreshing to unplug and spend time with a friend.

No matter what you doing or going go prepared for anything always have a little bag with the things you could need fire 🔥 starter clothes you just never know. Just be safe and warm. I know you know all this . I just want you to be prepared for anything. These days you have to. I love 💕💞❤️ your videos and a little part of your life and friends. Thank you for sharing.
Two cents on the cast iron quesadilla making - bring a lid that fits the skillet fairly well. Then you've got the ability to steam foods and melt the cheese for that ooey, gooey, cheesy quesadilla that makes our mouths water.

Looks like a fun way to spend a few days. Just a note... the most important ingredient in cast iron cooking is fat in the pan before and after cooking. Good fat of course. Bacon, butter, or coconut oil.
That whole A frame cabin was great. Thanks for taking me back to when I used to down hill ski. A friend of mine and I would share a cabin like this. It is one of my fondest memories. Thanks again for sharing. You two lovely woman had a great time.

No reason for outhouse … composting toilet is an absolute must have … box of pine needles and sawdust next to a five gallon bucket with seated ring holding the seat. Shower accomplished with instant propane mini heater like used in myJoolca or the super Ecotemp

Love the glass jar. I have a whole cabinet of 2 and 3 litre jars I bought at a store that was closing in Las Vegas where we lived for about $5.00 a jar. They've moved cross country with me back and forth through about 30 years.
They are gold as far as I'm concerned. Even found new gaskets for them also.
