Most students don't know what they are protesting. The professors should spend time teaching them to think instead of teaching them to protest without fully understanding what they are protesting.

Everybody has a right to state their opinion or talk about what they observed, this is a social platform, not court. It is ok if they got it wrong. Direct threats
Actionable threats
Fighting words
Words intended to incite actionable violence
Words to incite/furtherance of a crime
Once the speech is deemed unprotected then a crime has to be applied. Speech is not a crime in itself. However, if that speech is for the furtherance of a crime then the potential crime is what is a misdemeanor or a felony.
Also, there's no such thing as repulsive speech. Perhaps the word you were looking for was profane or vulgar? You're incorrect here as well.
