Use to have coffee with, Talmage Butler when he was the park superintendent. in the morning, before going kayaking. He was a great superintendent. I would take the Boy Scouts there and he would have projects for them to do for service hours. You are in the park at Desoto Falls. They have now fixed the trail so you can see the falls "straight on". LRC was part of Desoto State Park until about1993, when it came a national preserve. Isn't it great that we are setting aside more land for future generations. Since the park service took over they have improved the trails and overlooks. Every year we take the boy scouts there on our way to summer camp. From kayaking the river for so long, I have made some trails down to Humpty Dumpty rapid. What a mountain dew swimming hole. Crystal clear water, deep holes, jumping off rocks, awesome fun for the scouts. The adults like it too. In the summer the water is low and warm. I can't count how many times I have been there. In the winter when the water is running, this is a spectacular double drop which is a little intimating at first. I walked it many times before I started running it. The scouts like the rocks on the trail down, and like exploring around them.
We had a couple from above Chattanooga stop and chat with us one afternoon, and we mentioned we had "RUclips friends" from Cleveland, and they were both "Oh, yeah! We're through Cleveland all the time!" So, apparently your neighbors are beating you there, too! 😜
You, sir, must have excellent taste! I've about worn out that poor t-shirt - have to start shopping for a replacement before too much longer! Thanks for watching!
Love this video of all the falls you went to from Desoto on down the line. I love water falls. Smokey I can smell them burgers from where I was at. Where’s mine? Lol 😂 Thank you so much for this video. The scenery was great. Have a great week. See you soon!
DeSoto park is almost in my back yard. We don’t camp there much, because it in our back yard. I spend a lot of time in the area during the fall doing photography. The best view of DeSoto falls is to hike to the bottom. It’s only a 1/4 of a mile but it’s a demanding hike. We are looking at a mini lite as a retirement RV to take around the country.
Hindsight being 20/20, we wish we'd taken the time to go down to the bottom of DeSoto Falls. We enjoyed the park and the campground so much, though, there may be a return trip there in our future! Thanks for watching!
I agree with you, I love the natural beauty of Little River Falls. I look forward to visiting DeSoto State Park (renting a cabin) again in the fall. I love it there! I enjoyed your video! Thank you for sharing!
Hey, thanks a lot! We're so glad you liked it! DeSoto is definitely a "must-return" location for us! Be sure to catch the "Part 2" video we did of that trip, too.
So very glad to see y’all back up and going as we have missed y’all! Looks like a great time and we will definitely put this on our list of places to go!
Thanks for watching! By all means, GO THERE! We can't stress how nice that campground was! There's not a lot of touristy-type stuff to do in the area, but it's beautiful and peaceful, so for that reason alone, it's worth spending a week there.
Thank you! We're sure glad you like 'em! If you couldn't tell, we LOVED visiting your neck of the woods, and really hope we can get back there sometime!
What beautiful weather you two had for this trip!! Spring sunshine up in the mountains! It must have been wonderful! It was fun to watch, so thank you for sharing it with us.
Wow! That's some heavy responsibility you just put on us, doing the vicarious-living thing for other folks! 😳 We're up to it!! 😎 Hey, thanks for watching!
You missed showing all the new "all night sodium vapor lights" We use to stay there two weekends per month during the winter, but the lights drove us away. We found other places to stay with no lights.
Don't remember that being a problem while we were there, but it was almost three years ago, and memory gets less and less reliable as time goes by... 🤷🏼♂
Dude. We're staying in Desoto site 79 in October haha. We're always going to the same parks, just not at the same time. Great video. Now I'm really looking forward to the trip! (with my mountain bike, too haha). Your editing is spot on....the scene changing with the music and all....and I loved the driving montage. Thank you for bringing us with you guys.
Y'know, there is that thing about "great minds thinking alike." 😉 We're gonna end up being neighbors at one of these places sooner or later! Thanks for the compliments, too! We worked hard on this one!
Thank you. It is our first time there and it's a 6 hour drive and we got site 85. Looking forward to it. My husband just retired so we are able to explore further away.@@LiveNLearnRV
Yeah, I don't like driving through Atlanta, even in just the car........I I love to drive, but also enjoy the relaxing drives, and ATlanta is not a relaxing drive, and some of the drivers.......Whewwww....The Falls are beautiful. I am just getting back into filming our trips, and I have to get back in the habit of filming us talking............I have built up a camera shyness..........UGH! We just did a beautiful hike on the Applician trail to Cascade falls, and yes I did film the falls just not us talking!
Talking to the camera is easy - how much embarrassment can a little hunk of glass and plastic really cause, after all? 🤔 All kidding aside, you'll get there! Thanks for watching!
If memory serves, cell reception there was okay (we're on AT&T). We didn't watch much TV while we were there, and what little we did would have been over the internet, so again, the cell reception must have been decent enough to allow that.
@@mikecampingforfun5226 You can get internet access from a cell provider, and most carriers have plans that allow for using your phone as a "hotspot," which would be how you'd get your devices connected to the internet.
We have Desoto State Park camping reservations in Nov 2022, we have a small Class C motorhome. The road looks pretty narrow going to Desoto Falls, but I thought I saw a motorhome in the parking lot. Go you think road is OK for our rig?
Really couldn't say, at least not without seeing your rig. I don't remember anything other than cars and pickups in the parking lot at the falls, and I sure wouldn't try anything bigger than that there.
I have a question. What do you use on the outside of your rig black Mark's on the fiberglass. Right now we use dawn detergent because the rubber on top you can't use harsh chemicals. Thank you we can't find anything that works.
Black marks on fiberglass...? Not sure exactly what you mean there. Bug strikes are probably the toughest things to clean off we've experienced so far. We haven't had any blemishes on our rig (yet) that soapy water wouldn't erase.
We found the perfect thing for the decals . We had black streaks that wouldn't come off the decals so we used McGuire's compound. Some reason dawn wouldn't take that off the dark places. So we found that compound and the decals look brand new now. Thanks for answering me back I should of explained it better. Changing the subject we are going to book as soon as we can to Desoto state park loved your video on the park. Loved the falls and the trails.

That is awesome! Sounds like you've got the right idea! Thank for watching... and for getting the Mrs. watching, too!
This place looks great! The campground looks well maintained and ..... level! Very nice job on the video.
Nicest campground we've ever visited (so far)! We'll show more of it in the next video. Thanks for watching, pal!
Thanks for showing me a part of our beautiful country I have not seen. (Loved the shot of the deer)!
Oh, how I wish we'd had a better camera at hand when those deer visited our site! Glad you liked it!
Beautiful place thanks for sharing.
