Hi ETA, been a fan of yours for years now, and I love your videos, they’re always so informative, but one thing I’ve noticed lately is, your video descriptions don’t include the links for the products you review anymore, and you no longer answer people’s questions or comments. I understand you’re super busy, and the rate of video publishing has increased dramatically over the past few months, leaving you with little time to check the comment section, or edit the links in the video descriptions. Please, don’t take this as criticism, I’m sure I’m not the only one in the community who really appreciates your vast knowledge of this subject, and your awesome videos, I don’t know if you’ll ever read this, but if you do, checking the comments section once in a while would certainly help us out, people post some very good questions and you might even get some good ideas for future videos. Again, thank you for all your work, and keep the high quality content coming, you’re the main source of info on small form factor and portable PCs for a lot of people, we appreciate your help deciding what products better suit our needs.
Especially because he mentions it at the end of every video "if you have any questions". In the LaunchBox videos the only replies he gives in the comments section are when people praise the product, so he replies them a "Thank You".
I just got mine almost a week ago now. It's insanity! I use it as my main desk computer now as my last PC for that setup was an i5 7th gen and a GTX 1060 3gb. This device performs better than that setup in nearly every instance. Now that they've fixed the 3rd party dock issues along with increased performance even more in BIOS updates, this is an amazing option. Sidenote, I think getting an SD to expand storage is a dumb idea if you can take the back off of the console. If you get a 2tb NvME it'll only cost you about $20 more than a 1tb micro SD card, and you'll end up with 125% of the storage with the SSD than you would get with the micro SD. Also wayyy faster and more reliable speeds. My only gripe is no support for eGPU's other than the proprietary Asus stuff. I don't need an eGPU considering my last setup, but I'm sure in a year or so I'll grab an XGm GPU to give it more power when docked, but they are reallyyy pricey for what they are. Edit: I got my Ally from Best Buy Open-Box. They allowed me to inspect it and it was genuinely brand new not a single light scratch anywhere. Only $545. I also traded in my old HP 5500u laptop I wasn't using anymore for $200 allowing me to get this sucker AND get rid of older tech for an astonishing $350. Even at the $545 this thing is worth it, but if you have somewhat modern stuff you're willing to trade in do it. I've learned over the past year best buy has THE BEST trade in values on devices
I wish someone would make a snap on battery bank that also has 2-4 SD card or Micro SD card slot. And a pass through USBc to go to a dock with hdmi if needed.
I used to talk to you on discord when you where just beginning on RUclips and I have to say I'm very proud of you and actually I'm happy that you have so much subs compared to other people because you have a kindness that other people secretly do not they appear to be but they are not kind then you've always been a very kind-hearted person.
Just snagged my ally and I'm gearing it as a pseudo laptop replacement. Blue tooth keyboard, Bluetooth mouse, usb dongle for drawing tablet is pretty wild. Is it better than a laptop? Ehhh probably not, but it is faster than my current ultra book for a fraction of the cost.
I found a coiled ( Bungie cord) usb-c cable thats excellent. Its 1ft relaxed and 3ft extended when pulled taut. Great for traveling without mess of wires.
That's a UHS-I card. UHS-II microSD cards are basically unobtainable, especially beyond 256GB. Mostly because camera people *really* hate microSD and want full-size cards. So the only adopters have been drones.

Really excited to get my ally! snagged that same battery pack just waiting for the ally to arrive before ordering anything else but looking forward to some cases or replacement shells hopefully in the future. at least some recommended cases or bags would be excellent as well. dont think the ally will fit in my switch bag and i dont love the official ally bag.
Ironically whenever I DIDNT use a screen protector, I never had to worry about screens getting cracked. From phones to handhelds. But whenever I put a screen protector on it either cracked the screen within a month or the screen would crack on its own within a year somehow.
I'm hoping for a good protective case/bag to carry the ROG Ally, XG Mobile, Gamepad, and some other accessories. Any recommendations or are there any existing Steam Deck/Switch bag that does the job well?
