    It's hard to know what is good and isn't good these days, my best advice is that the more it costs, PROBABLY the better it is, but that isn't always true, as is the case with Snap-On. Typpically, you get what you pay for. Snap-on's hand tools and air tools are great and are probably the best in the business. I do not like Snap-on's tap and die sets or their measuring tools (ie - mics, bore guages, etc ... ). I am also not a fan of their equipment, like welders, glassbead cabinets, etc ... Most of that is bought from someone else and rebranded as Snap-on. Here is just a little insight into my experience with Irwin Taps from Lowe's and lesser grade tools. Not saying they are bad, but you get what you pay for.
