really crazy how much this has helped my pc run it while looking SO much better, it did run well but the game was a bit of an eye sore at times. looks a lot nicer now, thanks for the video!
Thank you for this run through of the visual settings Wet. I understand that the new AMD FSR settings aren’t relevant for you running a nVidia GFX card but I would strongly encourage people with AMD GFX cards to give it a try, especially at higher resolutions. You can play around with the quality settings and the impact it has on FPS vs. visual trade off. For me it helps me a lot trying to run the game at 3440x1440 @ high settings using a RX5700XT.
I honestly hate TAA. almost acts as very slight motion blur, it just smears everything that's even slightly in motion. I keep it off and inject SMAA via Reshade.
Reminder. For those playing on barely enough minimum settings on this game, the "AMD FSR 1.0" actually helps you a LOT. WetMagic is being very basic about this because his PC just can run the game normally without it. He sounds like he has no idea what FSR does. I run mine on along with "Ultra quality" and it looks beautiful WHILE saving resources. Mind you that for old GPUS that dont run DX12 games well, FSR 1.0 is better than FSR 2.0. Try both on ultra quality and see what runs better.
Holy shit. This made a world of a difference. I have a pretty good computer running on extreme. But I copied these settings and this looks so much better! (Though the high FOV is making me queasy lol)
One thing about Transparency Resolution: If you set this to High you have a very anyoing Heat dissipation when your blocking on Sienna's Melee stuff. It looks cool but I would never put it to High. It's very distracting.
Wow, i was playing practically max settings (with a few exceptions) and i would get as low as 25fps during the biggest fights which, in a game like this, can be a big issue. Your settings made it look 20% less nice but perform 200% better. I'll take that trade any day.
@@WetMagic Also DX12 will stutter for the first few maps while it builds shadercache. Don't worry about it, they should go away after that so just life through it.
My issue with the game isn't performance, but lighting. You turn down auto-exposure and everything including the bloom is too bright, you leave the auto-exposure up and it's like you're in a goddamn rave with the light level constantly going up and down. With HDR btw, it's like this game just has NEVER been updated to properly support HDR and it's a real shame because it helps the colours to really pop using HDR
Using these settings with a 3060 Ti and a i5 10600K, fps caped at 165, never go under 165 neither while hordes rush.. nice one mate! EDIT: I'm usind Dx12 though, on 1080p
Nice, with my 750ti now I have stable fps and game looks good enough. Still need to play around some settings though, lighting is eh, something like inside of the church in Righteous Stand looks horrible.
2024 On 2060 I still get consistent and horrendous FPS drops just by turning around in game no matter how a spec the settings. My penance for buying a fucking Razerblade years ago instead of just getting a PC
I've seen both yours and JTC's videos on this and the worker threads option for me is literally just 1 or 2, is there a reason for that or just that I have a shitty Processor?
It depends on your CPU... I don't play this on PC but I assume you have a Quad Core CPU with no Hyperthreading, it seems the game only allows Number of available Threads minus 2 so for you 4-2 which is why you see only 1 or 2 as the option.
Holseher's Tower of Bad Fps lmao Jokes aside, I think it would be helpful to clarify your DX choices too, I see you've set it to 11 as opposed to 12. But just like fullscreen vs borderless it seems to be a total wildcard will it provide or reduce performance and I don't seem to find the "true" answer nowhere.
I can't believe a "Vermintide 2 Visual Settings Tutorial" recommends keeping AMD FSR off. I thought you would at least try the shit before even attempting to recommend to keep FSR off and then proceed to say "you don't need it". FSR provides a huge FPS boost even on Ultra quality, so if you really want to squeeze more FPS then FSR is the option that probably has the best "FPS boost" vs "loss of quality" ratio, period. It's the only option that so far has helped me with the huge FPS drops + input lag I get on the "lava" maps on CW.
Tried this setup and went from an average 200 fps to something around 300 to 350 xD I‘m using a RTX 3090 and I9 10900K on 5.3GHrtz…. enough to run V2 on Max settings :D
Thanks for going through all the details of the visual settings. Vermintide II are a visual beautiful game. But had to uninstall it today. Just find almost all the maps were just about Hack 'n Slash with rats and monsters coming at you all the time constantly. Don't mind a good fight. But could be nice with a bit more storytelling, atmosphere, and mystique IMHO. So it's not only killing and slaughtering all the time nonstop. That was too repetitive for me, and made me had my last game yesterday. Plus the way one had to manually walk around in the castle to do simple tasks like changing equipment. That require to open a gate, and a little bit of loading time. Then walk back again in order to go to a book to start a game. Then to the domed forcefield in order to confirm your game. Just give me a simple menu system without all the walking and loading screens...please. BTW: My game from yesterday are here if anyone wants to check it out ruclips.net/video/xJIdzG-cgjw/видео.html

Thanks a lot for this vid!
My pleasure 👍

I agree
Good to know. I didn’t know it was different for AMD cards.
@@WetMagic I now read that it’s supposed to work on select Nvidia cards too! Some other commenter confirmed it works for him/her.
@@WetMagic I use it on my garage PC which has a GTX 1060 3gb. Works fine

not sure but i guess it was a bug switching with that setting during a mission. still not sure tho i have to test more

The reshade definitely look better but I honestly think it's not that much better. I really like how the game looks base
one question for u mate! what monitor u have?! full hd, 2k, 4k. how many inches is my monitor ...???🤔
DX12 and FSR are huge fps boosts.
Why no DX12? I have the same CPU with a 2070 super and it gives me alot better performance than DX11.
Honestly I never thought to try it. I thought dx12 was just for newer visual stuff like ray tracing, but I’ll try it out.

Are there any mods to improve the texture maps/graphics of this game that's out in June of 2022?
Man, not sure how i might try to run these settings with an rtx 970(i think)
so your frames dont drop even on hordes?
It drops to about 60 or so.

what about dx 11 vs dx 12?
I’ve always used dx11, but 12 might be better.
