Thank you for your comment! Yes, the vestments worn by Catholic bishops and popes have roots in the traditions of the Aaronic priesthood. The elaborate garments described in the Book of Exodus and Leviticus, such as the ephod and the breastplate, have influenced the designs of ecclesiastical robes.
Catholic liturgical attire, including the chasuble, stole, and mitre attempt to establish a connection to these Old Covenant traditions. Over time, the garments evolved to incorporate various cultural and historical elements, but the foundational inspiration remains the same.
