Thanks for the video. Helped me replace the one in mine. I just used a heat blanket and used the two sided tape that came with it. To get under the screen I used a razor blade to pry the edge up and then used a plastic gift card to cut the glue. The black foam piece on the back I cut under the corner with a razor blade to get ahold of it and was able to peel it off by hand and transfer it to the new screen. Probably should wear safety glasses when extracting the old screen as it is probably going to break a bit more.
Hi. I really liked your video. thanks for that. but in my case i just need to replace the glass and not the whole display. any suggestions on how i could do that?
@@rickstechrepairs wow. Thanks for responding. It is just that a glass part it 10 eur and the display 80. Which is a lot for what was originally a 150 eur device. If you would do the glass. How could it be done? I will otherwise likely bin the device. But it feels like such a waste... Thx again
Sorry to bother you, I know the video is a long time ago, but I just found the exact same model and I would like to know how to remove the screen to change the battery, without breaking the tablet screen because I have to use the same one, thank you very much for the video though!
@@rickstechrepairs thanks for the explanation! I've changed other tablet screens before but never disconnected the battery. I'll add this to my to-do list.
Hi, thanks for the video. I followed all the steps but the screen is not working. Also, it makes a click sound every 5 seconds. Do you have any ideas why this is happening and how to solve it?
@@1982Fingers2 It's because you didn't put the connector that you swapped from the old screen all the way inside the connector of the new screen, there is a "white line" and if you can still see it, it means the connector is not fully inside
@@ThePrincedogyeah I had a bit of trouble figuring out where the line should be. You are right though, it will be not visible when the connector has been sent home all the way

The glass is glued to the LCD, so I don't recommend attempting a glass only swap

Just ordered the screen and doing a bit of research. What was the purpose of unplugging the battery? (is this a step I can skip?)

The old ribbon cable was slightly damaged, so I bought a new one and it solved this issue, the tablet is working fine now.
