Don't use anti-seize on the wheel hub studs/lug nuts, it may increase your torque values and can cause wheel studs to stretch. For rust/corrosion protection use Fluid Film works great. Awesome truck 👍
@@DoctrParker I'm a classic car mechanic at a hot rods shop. I have to look up procedures daily on the old ass cars I repair. I HATE when the presenter spends more time talking about nothing rather than the job at hand.
Really good instruction on the whole routine, nice and clear! Question, what made ya use that oil filter over the “Ford one?” I’m currently breaking in my 24 R at 600 miles, so first oil change coming soon. Thanks again!
Great question! I have long used Wix filters and so have my friends, with no issues. Another reason is that I was able to purchase it alongside the oil at OReillys instead of having to chase the filter down from Ford. So really to answer your question, convenience.
Not many people have a raptor R and I’m sure the people that do have a raptor R go and get it changed by a professional lol but if I ever get one I’ll keep this video in mind 👌🏻ty
As a ford tech, I see that was your factory oil filter coming off at 9700 miles. Highly recommended not following fords interval, especially on a vehicle of that caliber
Not going to lie, I definitely skipped out on the most important one at 5K miles. But better late than never! As a ford tech do you think the video included everything correctly?
@DoctrParker Congrats on the beautiful truck ... Hopefully we get more content 🙏 I definitely miss watching videos of you thrashing the hellcat or racing the mustang.. I know you sold dr pepper but I just miss the content.. shit even the hoa and the long tail action is great I understand that your busy with family and your dental practice also amongst other things . I just appreciate you and the rest of the Mitchell family for being great inspiration and roll models for the people.

Is there anything you would do differently or that I missed?
When tightening lugnuts always tighten in a star or crisscross pattern. That allows for evenly torqued lugnuts and minimizes lugnuts coming loose.
@@samcate1769 Yes I agree, especially on the first pass.
@DoctrParker for sure

Hmm I have not heard that before definitely looking into it. Would be cool to test the difference.
Lost me at using a wrench imma have zach handle it again.
Yeah. You’re more of a bodywork kinda guy. Ive seen you fill in some panels nicely. 😂
Straight forward. Detailed. No bullshit. I wish every how too was this way. Ole CrisFix might have new competition...
He’s definitely become a great inspiration! His videos are timeless, no bs, useful forever. That was the point of this one.

@@danielmorskijr411 Completely agree, just get to what we need to see!
Step 1 : Get a raptor r

@ makes sense, right on!
You can buy a bunch of those rubber washers for the drain plug from McMaster-Carr. Highly recommend just replacing the washer.
I’ll try that next time for sure
Do you know what size and type for the washers? Have a link u can share please?

I just like making videos as a hobby. So if this helps someone in the future, that’s great!
Thanks for the video Doc. Question... are there any zerk grease fittings that need to be lubricated at oil change intervals?
According to the owners manual there is not
Did you skip where the drain plug is ?
With the wheel nuts do a star pattern to tighten up! Other than that well done.
Yes I agree not sure why I did it like this on the video
@@DoctrParker Caught up in the moment
THANKS
You're welcome!
Called the Raptor because of all the dead dinosaur juice lubricating the engine 😆
Great instructional! 👍
So true! 😂😂
Will we get a outside cat video before new years ??
As a ford tech, I see that was your factory oil filter coming off at 9700 miles. Highly recommended not following fords interval, especially on a vehicle of that caliber
So are you saying to do it more or less often then recommended?
We do every 5k miles
Not going to lie, I definitely skipped out on the most important one at 5K miles. But better late than never! As a ford tech do you think the video included everything correctly?
I think you may have produced the most informative oil change video I’ve seen for any vehicle. Kept it short and to the point!
When should I perform my first oil change on the Raptor R ? Does the break in oil really matter?
Dang thing holds almost as much oil as a Cummins hahah
It holds a ton
Is this your truck or Garrett's truck .
This is my truck

Yes we do and his has more power because he has a whipple on his. Mine is stock.

Dang no more 6.7 :(
Raptor R and the 12 valve!
@DoctrParker true!
Nice vid but, the people want Thai boat. I could watch that thing once a week just cruising around.
Yes they do!
imagine making a 6 minute video on changing oil 🤣🤣🤣
Would you have liked it to be longer?
Not gonna lie those ratchets are trash

What color is your raptor R?
