This song really spoke to me. there are so many artists out there talking about how their parents screwed them up or screwed them over or neglected them or left them. And I know that those types of songs mean something to a lot of people. I just don't connect to those songs because my parents taught me love and respect. This song... This song spoke to me. What a beautiful song about life's beginnings and working class parents that didn't have much to give except love and hope. Thank you Adam

my dad took me to my first ever concert when i was 11 on july 5th- it was an owl city concert. i knew it was his birthday (i had looked up his wiki earlier) and during the intermission i screamed “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADAM” and got the whole crowd to start singing happy birthday to him! such a magical experience at such a magical concert. love you adam, keep up the amazing work!

A lot of Owl City's songs are basically music put to poetry, as opposed to most artists who put lyrics to their music. I noticed how different the styling of these lyrics were compared to most other songs. The styling and the placement of each word seemed a lot more poetic than Fiji Water, for example. It also had no real chorus besides "On the fourth of July/On the fifth of July", which is also a very common trope in poetry. It's how they get their names. I also noticed it in songs like Air Traffic and Sky Diver. Both of those have no real chorus and poetic styles, and they get their names from a common theme in the song. Much like poems would. You don't see poems repeating a chorus over and over again, do you? Or taking their names from a repeated line in the chorus? Unless they're songs (which people consider poetry, anyway), no. Real poems without any music or beat attached to them, this song is like that. He could have written down these lyrics and published them in a book and no one would have ever suspected that this was written as a song. Can you do that with most other songs? That's why Owl City is one of the most creative people ever. Most artists don't even think of singing poems.

not knowing much of his whereabouts last year and being absolutely ambushed by Coco Moon was such an experience; i absolutely LOVE the album. Been listening to Vitamin Sea, The Tornado, Adam Check Please, My Muse, Kelly Time, and Under The Circus Lights a lot; those are my top fav. Ougghh Adam Check Please is such an inspiring song for me!! The lyrics "So chase your passion and not your paycheck" and "Put in the worl until your signature becomes an autograph" pushes me forward to keep doing my art commissions despite if I have no more motivation. Once, I didn't properly save a big commission I have drawn and I was so exhausted that I have to re-do the entire thing again. But, I played Adam Check Please and immediately began working until it was finished. My client was satisfied in the end! Really, I can't thank you enough, Adam. I hope you have a happy birthday even if you don't read or see this!!
