I have the thunderpole tx ...and its an awesome 11m radio....I live in Telford and on the stock antenna i hit Wolverhampton on a single 5 radio 5...well impressed with tx...😊
@@Shack-time yer its definitely is...ive got 4 people to come back on we going to put some live back in Telford...I used to be on round 1995 and it was packed on most channels and the 19 was active 247...its good to be back...and to have a break of ham radio 📻 😎😎
Plus the TX has a much better signal meter. The other clone from Jopix has export mode but shares the same inferior display unfortunately. I hope thunderpole bring out an SSB version eventually !
I cant get my head around how well that radio works with the rubber duck. On paper it just shouldnt work but it does! Brilliant contacts on 25, i will listen out and try and give you a shout sometime - I am in Trafford. Great content, keep it up!
I know. I’m amazed too. This is why I enjoy producing these videos… people get to see for them selves rather than just read about it. I’ve spoken to the guys on channel 25 before. They are ideal for these tests as they are far away and don’t mind stations butting in for these checks. I really think CB is taking off again and radios like these are really helping.
Definitely. I love mine, in case you didn’t gather from my video lol. I’m working on my next video which is the HP62. I’m expecting good things from that and I shall be installing the wiring loom into my car so will have a a great hand held cb which can become a mobile radio. I’m looking forward to that one.
I didn’t use my dummy load as I wanted to see what was actually leaving my setup. I might just film another power test with dummy load… I’m reviewing the HP62 radio next week… I might do the test then , both with dummy load and both on antenna 👍
Hi Martin. Yes untested 2 watts high and 1 watt low. This was tested using a tuned in antenna. I shall test it later and use a dummy load but I would imagine it would be the same.
Please do i am using a dummy load on on tx1 and 2 watts is high pwr same radio really diffrent software . Be great to know if you get same results on dummy load
Do these work in houses without external antenna? I have a motorway which is around 5mins walk from me. Do you think this would work? I'm new to all this
Thank you for commenting. I feel it’s important to be transparent when doing reviews and wanted to be clear on that. If you were bored enough to make you want to write this comment, you could always have fast forward to the part where the radio was demonstrated ?
Just like all publicity is good publicity, even negative comments improve the channel's visibility under the RUclips algorithm. Great content; both of you and your channels. Carry on, gents.
Really useful information James.. keep the videos coming..
Amazing test rog
Thanks Lewis. Thanks again for your help filming this last week. It certainly helped to demonstrate the NRC.

@@chrislittle9057 that’s fantastic. I’m often in Telford as my brother lives there. I’ll be sure to give you a shout 👍
The Thunderpole T-X is the same radio but it also has an export mode covering 25-30mhz.
It’s a shame the PNI doesn’t do that. It’s a big loss

12 miles with just that rubber duck on 2 watts 🤔
I'll have to do a test like That, with my TX.
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Please video your tests and post them 👍
12 miles is a load of nonsense…..It’s not possible!
They may have changed the wattage, I just got one of these yesterday, claiming 4 watts both AM&FM.
Did you do the power into a dummy load? If it was into an antenna you won't get accurate readings.

It should work quite well. Even GMRS should be OK for that.
Does it work better than the President Randy?
I would like to see the difference 👍
I’m not sure I’ve never used the Randy. I know it’s a lot more money. I’d like to have a try of one and to do a comparison
6 minutes in a i was falling asleep with his endless rambling and not showing how the radio functions. Wake me up when he shows the radio.

Ha ha think you may be right. He could have just switched off but it’s nice he went to the trouble to continue his communication with me 😅

Never mind FM or weather channels. We need SSB
