She was TRULY the triple "threat" - she could act as well as she could dance as well as she could sing!!! And her incomparable beauty and total enchantment!!! A TRUE GENIUS!!!
I agree. She was great in all of her movies, but this one is the absolute best she has done, because she got to do her own acting without someone telling her what to do, and she did a marvelous fantastic job. They had to use four wraths to get through the river scenes. And there were not any body doubles. They, all three, Marilyn, Robert and Little ten year old Tommy W. And, I can say that she was not appreciated or respected like she should have been. They abused her. She is absolutely beautiful after they Comericialized her, but I think that she was absolutely beautiful before, when she was innocent 😇. She is classic, and I have not seen anyone else like her, not even those who try to immatate her.
River of No Return was grossly underrated. This was a WONDERFUL production. From the opening scene, background music, everything about this movie. I loved it the first time I saw it and will never grow tired of watching this movie.
Very fragile breathy light voice and limited range though. Some of her songs were dubbed. Monroe is a classic example of the 'made in hollywood' star. She began to think she was just an illusion without talent. She went into a slow decline and eventually overdosed by mistake on an anxiolytic cocktail.

She had problems and was exploited sexually. The exploitation of women in Hollywood continues. Marilyn was high maintenance and had spending problems as well. Marilyn was not just another beautiful and talented actress, and there were many many of them in the Hollywood of that time. She showed her naked heart, her naked soul, without protection, and that gave her voice and eyes that special melancholy that makes us cry ever and ever.
Marilyn is absolutely the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my entire life. Not just on the outside, because that’s isn’t entirely important. On the inside she was just as beautiful. And she was a poor lost woman looking for love her whole life.. She deserved all the love in the world. If I could do anything, I’d travel back and hug her.. and let her know how appreciated and loved she is. And everything will be alright. 💗
What a voice! I always thought she was a fantastic singer. She truly was a stunning woman. She just glows on film and actually had so much talent. She could model, act, sing, dance, anything. Its rare to see a beauty with intelligence and talent like that famous now in 2018. Its all auto tuned voices, bad attitudes, and fake asses. I wanna go back to the days of Marilyn...when stars were worthy of their fame and had talent.
The River of No Return can never be sung by anyone else as good in this world except Marilyn . This song bares her soul as a true human being yearning for love in her loneliness. This constant feeling of loneliness and sadness was also reflected in her eventual suicide. She is truly beautiful, fragile and unforgettable. Just like every one of us, her heart is a lonely hunter for true love. Isn't it what life is all about?

Gosh, what a breathtakin' lady.. Some say 'beauty is only skin deep'. She was beautiful to the bone ! Thank you very much for sharing, and greets from the Netherlands. T.
She was the most beautiful thing that ever existed. And I say "thing" not to be objectifying, but that no object or thing in nature compares, either. I want to cry thinking what a sad life she had and how she was kind of abandoned by her parents, in one way or another. My God, who wouldn't want to say "that's my daughter up there!!" It's almost as if no one could be endowed with that distinction.
Donn Godfather I could honestly not have worded it better myself, she is essentially the embodiment of perfection itself, the ultimate symbol of beauty and majesty. Marilyn Monroe has no equal, the most beautiful human who has ever lived.
I like how she throws her high heeled shoes when leaving as she understood with the life she was going to have along her new man the shoes would not be of any use to her. It makes me think when we change life or work there are things we must leave behind as they are no good any longer. They might have been good but shall no longer be of use to us.
When Marilyn Monroe starts to walk into the saloon, then pauses for a moment, and looks back at Mitchum and his son with longing, it is one of the best moments in the film. Truly heartbreaking... Hollywood could take a lesson.
I had the pleasure of working with Mitch in Hollywood, as an actor, and he was a joy to behold. He had this wonderful way of including you in his life.
Nice song and so deep really as life is the river of no return. We can never go back to someone or something we left behind and if we try we find people and things have changed and are not as we remember them. So we must go ahead forward as there is no return really. Sometimes I have wished to be young again but of course that is not possible. I have thought what I could have done had I had the wisdom I have now. But as they say youth is wasted on the young and there is no way to retrieve it. So instead of lamenting what we lost move ahead and do the best we can with the knowledge we have now that we did not have then.
Beautiful and wise words, Jorge Mario Rodas. One thing we can achieve is live while young at heart. That's what makes one forget age and admire having deserved our wrinkles. The soul transfers them to our body ;)
This was a very sad scene - her sweetheart just killed and all her dreams of changing her life shuttered. Marilyn sang with pain and sadness in her voice and face. A marvellous actress.
I had a crush on her from when I first saw The Misfits on DVD. Stunningly beautiful. Jane Fonda, a beauty in her own right, said that when Marilyn entered a room all mens eyes went to her and then they were mesmerized. She definitely had IT.

Marilyn 😇💜 was an incredible and very talented actress, singer, dancer, writer /poet & an amazing lady. Unfortunately, she had a sad 😢 and a hard 😲😦 life. I enjoyed the movie 📀 "the river of no return." I wish people could see how talented marilyn 😇💗 is.
Beautiful - could sing dance and act and very intelligent - even now - nobody has the special magic she possessed - try as they might with makeup etc..your videos are giving credit to a wonderful lady who was taken too soon 😔
Hi Elaine
BEAUTIFULLY SAID 👄🌹👄🌹👄
Incredible beyond words!!!
Marilyn Monroe was my idol.
Always love to watch her movies and listen to her songs.
She was great in this role. Loved her singing, her glam, and her wilderness girl
Robert Mitcham & Marilyn Monroe 💕
The magic of that era is never to return🌹the song has depth and meaning this is the philosophy of life ❤️
marylin RIP my dear... from quite poor orphanage :"living" beginnings... you achieved a lot... & lot more than the others think... & you got very far.... & you did it on your own... RESPECT! GOD BLESS YOU!
How about elizabeth tylor
Beautifully worded. She was almost too beautiful for this corrupt world.
Her Mom had some mental health issues.
Have a look at Suchitra Sen, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai before saying this. ☺️
The soil of my birthplace,

of the grandparents of
Marilyn Monroe---AT REST (Otis 1909 Della 1927).
I love her, beautiful
Ни кто так не поёт как Мерлин!
И дело не только в голосе...
А в душе......
Perełka retro i cudowna Marylin nigdy się nie zestarzeją ❤ dzięki Beata
I like how she throws her high heeled shoes when leaving as she understood with the life she was going to have along her new man the shoes would not be of any use to her. It makes me think when we change life or work there are things we must leave behind as they are no good any longer. They might have been good but shall no longer be of use to us.
Eloquently said!
Yes Jorge. Your comments are wise. Gracias.
Yes. We must leave the old tools as we move towards new solutions.
Say what you want...Mitchum and Monroe, so sexy, love this ending!!!
I am not from her era; but I absolutely adore this woman!
Hauntingly beautiful - Monroe and the song.
The most beautiful woman that ever exists on this planet.
That depends on person to person.
What abt your mom?
@@princesslilchief8282 She is the Mom
Plenty of girls in Dublin, Ireland look like this.
She's top five for me, Natalie Wood #1.
She’s So Beautiful! I love her !❤️
Nice song and so deep really as life is the river of no return.
I wish if she wear more polite dress, to hide the beauty that God give to her from evil eyes...
Jorge ...what wonderful, wise and true words you said !
Beautiful and wise words, Jorge Mario Rodas. One thing we can achieve is live while young at heart. That's what makes one forget age and admire having deserved our wrinkles. The soul transfers them to our body ;)
i so agree you cant go back
Wow! Thank you.
Marilyn Monroe演唱這部電影〔大江東去〕的主題曲,真的是唱作俱佳,歌唱技巧跟情感,都超動人。👍
最後男主角勞勃米契把她背在肩膀上,上馬車離去,真的超經典啊~💗
This was a very sad scene - her sweetheart just killed and all her dreams of changing her life shuttered. Marilyn sang with pain and sadness in her voice and face. A marvellous actress.
Yeah no one really cares though.
She was better off without him truthfully. Guy was a prick who used her constantly but she was too sweet to dump him.
MARYLIN, seit dem ich 8 Jahre alt war, kenne ich dieses Lied, jedes mal, wenn ich an einem Bach, einem Fluss stehe singe ich dieses Lied. ♨♨♨♨♨♨♨
She deserves to never be forgotten.....she is the very best example of a perfect female being....unquestionably. ⚘
MM❤ FOREVER ,will travel down that river of no return until the end of time
I had a crush on her from when I first saw The Misfits on DVD. Stunningly beautiful. Jane Fonda, a beauty in her own right, said that when Marilyn entered a room all mens eyes went to her and then they were mesmerized. She definitely had IT.
You can have a look at Suchitra Sen, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai. ☺️
Exellent actress and beautiful 😍 🤩
