Anyone under the age of 18 can go pretty much anywhere they want to online seeing as the only age gate check for almost all age sensitive websites is as follows:
Are you 18 years of age or older?

Some adult entertainment websites don't even ask that question.

Age-gates, the best other effort possible, are a token effort at best... so whether it's even worth the effort is questionable.

      J. S I think though there’s a difference between 13 year olds and 5 year olds. While it’s pretty hard to control a teenager online, and 18 is a fairly arbitrary number, if you’re a parent and you’re not fully vetting everything your elementary school age kid is watching on line, you’re being negligent. There’s ways to limit how a child interacts with the internet vs how an intelligent 11 or 12 year old will.

But Anna isn't on any is she? You know I know nothing about the internet" Anna was at the time 7 or 8 and is my kid sister. When I responded "Well yeah she has snapchat and has had it for several months" my mum was shocked. She talked to my sister who claimed she only had it for a day to which I had to supply evidence taht she had had it for weeks.
She was then allowed back on snapchat last summer when she was turning 11- so still not old enough. But it was on certain conditions and our dad keeps tabs on what she does. She was then allowed on instagram about a month ago but I don't think she has any rules for how to use it and I don't know if anyone is monitoring that. It actually really bothers me.

It’s definitely disturbing, and I don’t think there’s gunna be a fix for it. Kids will want to be doing what’s most relevant and not seem like they’re missing out or a loser. No one wants to be the kid with the shittest phone or that isn’t doing what everyone else is. Lots of parents won’t know how to monitor their activity, or simply don’t care enough to, just stick an iPad in front of them an let them do what they want, or kids will just input fake birthdays like we all did when RUclips became a thing and needed to bypass age restricted videos.
I don’t have kids nor do I plan to, I’m sure it’s just that these kids will be the first generation entirely brought up by technology, old coot syndrome saying they don’t go outside enough or go out playing and getting their knees dirty, but it really does annoy me seeing very young kids on iPhones and dressing older than their age and having to fit in and seem cool and on trend with what’s all over the internet that they’re consumed by since birth.

It will be one for the ages.
      Chapter 1
The DNC comes in swinging in hard with Bernie Sanders who was extremely popular and well liked and ran a platform about ending the corruption in Washington and fixing America, he was on the fast track to the white house as the first president in a long time who planned on closing loopholes billionaires use to evade taxes, raising minimum wage across the board, and making healthcare more affordable. But then player 2 enters the game, Hillary, who is in control of the DNC, rigs the election to make sure she wins the nomination despite being not nearly as popular as Sanders.
      Chapter 2
The Russian government launches a massive propaganda campaign filling social media with false and misleading Pro-Trump anti-Hillary media and comments left by "troll farms" in an attempt to influence our election by preying on the Republicans bias/echo chamber. Trump breaks campaign finance laws to pay hush money to hookers. Hillary wins the popular vote by millions and millions of votes, yet the electoral college elects Trump into office.
      Chapter 3
He almost instantly becomes the president with the lowest approval rating of any president ever in many many decades. The FBI begins investigating him and his family for collusion with Russia, tax fraud, campaign finance laws, etc. Trump denounces America's intelligence agencies as being traitors, fires and makes personal attacks/threats to the people investigating him.
      Chapter 4
Trump refuses to sign a budget bill all over the fact that congress refuses to pay for a wall, causing the longest government shutdown in decades. After over a month of holding federal employees paychecks hostage to try and get his wall, Trump finally backs down and agrees to sign a bill with no wall. Then immediately after he declares a national emergency to try and fund his wall, a move seen by many as unconstitutional and a very dictator-esc way to abuse his powers to bypass congress and do whatever he wants. He literally admits on live TV he did not need to do it, implying what many of his critics claim that there is no emergency and he's just abusing his powers. He is sued by over a dozen states for his actions, something he will almost certainly lose in court over and will still never get his wall. And now finally at the top of it all, his former lawyer testifies to congress for over 7 hours detailing how Trump is a liar, a racist, a con man, and instructed him to do illegal and immoral things on hundreds of occasions both before, during, and after the election.
This book is going to be a real doozy. Trump will go down as one of the worst president's in America history and future generations will be scratching their heads as to how it all got so bad.

She didn't have a phone so she would use mine to make her musical.lys. I remember thinking it was odd that there was no age gating when signing up for the account. Luckily, she had practically no followers. I had her set her musical.lys to private (just friends I believe). I don't know how we would have felt about it if she had become popular on the site or had videos for everyone to see. It's honestly abhorrent to me the lack of supervision and understanding on the part of most parents. Unfortunately when they get to a certain age, there are the type of kids that will circumvent your efforts. Meaning they will find a way if you tell them no. However, younger children should be educated and protected. There is no reason for 9-11 year olds to be on social media. I don't care if that view is archaic. I am staying with it.

    • @ryanjames8555
      @ryanjames8555 5 лет назад +1

No, you’re absolutely right. There is literally no reason for a child to use social media. There are no positives other than the fact that you no longer have to deal with their screaming and crying. There are negatives to them having social media if anything. They can give away their parents information and their own. They can meet really disturbed adults online. They can get scammed. Also let’s just get this one out of the way: Nobody wants to hear what annoying little children have to say on the internet. It’s extremely frustrating having to deal with someone’s bratty child when social media should be for the mature. We seriously need to stop letting children onto social media, especially tiktok.

I’m 16 and have gained around 10,000 fans on tiktok. I have not experienced adults trying to come in contact with me but I do know some people who have. Most of the people who were being about 13-14 years old. (They’re my younger sisters friends) Some of the shit people would say to them is absolutely disgusting. Parents need to be aware of what their young teens, tweens, and children are coming in contact with online. We need to educate children what to do if an adult or anybody who they do not know messages them. We live in an age where it is easy for predators to reach out to kids, parents should start realizing this and start taking more action to prevent it.

    • @Blodhelm

@Drunk Pharaoh Trump has a verifiable history of racist behavior.
Point 1: He got in trouble for discriminating on people he rented to, specifically he would not rent property to black people while offering the same apartments to white people as a policy.
Point 2: The Parkland 5. They were innocent, Trump took out a full-page advertisement calling for reinstatement of the death penalty for them and to this day insists they are guilty when they absolutely are not(DNA evidence) and it was proven enough to get them freed after ~13 years in prison and the city had to compensate them some 40-ish million dollars.
Point 3: Only one president has ever had to present his birth certificate. Trump led the charge and claimed to have sent investigators to Hawaii that were finding shocking and interesting stuff. The implication was that Obama was not born in the US when this was demonstrably false. Now he brushes it off as unimportant. There was only one factor that was different about Obama that prompted calls for his birth certificate. Like him or hate him, he is a naturally-born US citizen and this was publicly known.
These are not counting the numerous other testimonies of racist behavior such as having black people removed from the floor of his casino every time he visited, so that he wouldn't have to see them, since those accounts cannot be verified easily. The three examples listed above are verifiable and highly public.
To call Trump racist is perfectly defensible and demonstrable. It is up to the people to decide if they approve or disapprove of this on election day. In 2016 they decided that he was the lesser of two evils. This was also a valid argument within this scope, as his opponent was a Goldwater Girl and mentee to Senator Robert Byrd(one-time Exalted Cyclops of the KKK), perfectly good examples(among others) of her own racism. We'll have to wait to find out if his next opponent will be less so and if he gets another term.

My hope is this is the start of a road that will lead to real life consequences for the Trump family, and hopefully eventually prison time. If only it was that simple. Trump is not a politician, he is a known con man and creator of dozens of failed businesses who became president because the DNC rigged their own election against their popular candidate Sanders in favor of their weaker candidate Hillary. Who then, despite facing a massive Russian propaganda campaign to fill American social media with pro-trump anti-hillary comments and memes along with hacking attacks at the DNC itself to try and weaken her campaign, still won the popular vote by millions. Then after the known con man business man became president the FBI started investigating him for collusion, tax fraud, campaign finance laws, etc. and Trump responded by calling them all traitors of America and fought tooth and nail to stop them. Now his ex lawyer testified for over 7 hours that Trump is a liar, a racist, a con man, and instructed him to do illegal things on numerous occasions. Problem is, Trump's supporters are mostly far-right radicals who, if the DOJ tries to impeach their orange monkey king, will likely take to the streets in violence and rage.
I'd say that's all some pretty insane breaking news.

Wow, who is genuinely surprised about the TikTok story?

It's hard for a parent to keep up with all the different social media and internet things there are now. I was talking to my daughter today about how she was banned from all electronics in our house, for 2 years, when she was 13 and made a Facebook account when it was still new. Then I told her she was an adult now and needed to make a Tinder or Sugar Baby account to get out of my house. You try to do right by your babies but there's just so much out there.
