  • 120 mile ride out from Durham to Richmond, Grinton and exploring the moors.
Not trying to Vlog or anything, just me messing about on my motorcycle and playing with recording gear etc. No talking just riding (I'm not one for talking).
Bike mods: Pretty standard this one ...so far. Only has bar end mirrors and tank knee pads (came like that) and now with DNA filter. A couple of new relays and cleaned the rest ...I've also moved the gear lever up one spline.
Recording Stuff: Insta 360 X3 (with motorcycle kit) (Camera World); Movo Wireless Mini Duo (for sound, Mounted under side panel); Ulanzi MT-58 1.21m Selfie Stick.

Great video! These are exactly the kind of roads Royal Enfields are made to ride on

Thank you. Yeah it really suits the twisty, narrow up and down roads.

A day with no rain? Really? I've got the exact same model of Classic arriving in a couple of weeks, and after 10 months of almost daily rain, I'm desperate to get out in the Cumbrian lanes with sun warming my back.

Yeah it has been pretty dismal, even on the rare dry day I've had to ride through flooded patches of road from the previous days rain. I've only managed to get into Cumbria a couple of times this year ...and it rained. I'm counting myself fortunate on the east side of the country, as I know from forecast-watching, that the west has had it much worse. Anyway, I hope the fine weather arrives with your new bike. It is a geat bike.

Hi Leigh I’ve got the exact same bike arriving in a couple of days, would it be possible to share the route you have taken.
    Cheers Paul

Unfortunately I can't post a map directly in here. The whole route was quite a complicated affair, keeping to smaller twisty roads from Durham, however most of the video just shows a relatively small section between Grinton/Askrigg/Muker (with a little bit showing Raby Castle and the road from Richmond to Reeth, another great motorcycling road). Anyway the twisty section was from: Grinton - along Swale Hall Lane (from a very small road junction just south of the Swale and B6270 junction in Grinton ...however this bit is very narrow and very steep in places ...it is possibly to join this road west of Healaugh if you want to bypass this bit) , this road continues but its designation changes to Low Lane and High Lane, then Long Road (heading to Askrigg), it's quite a climb. As you descend nearing Askrigg you meet another road at a T junction (Cross Top), from there you turn north again (almost back on yourself), along the aptly named Cross Top Road. This road meets the B6270 between Muker and Gunnerside. From here I continued on through Gunnerside to Feetham. At Feetham there's a small road heading up out of the village to Langthwaite. However as an alternative, the road to Reeth is very nice too. There's so many other great options in this area (To the west and north - Hawes, Thwaite, Buttertubs,Tan Hill, The Stang and to the south into Nidderdale etc)
