People have been saying getting 505 to the knee is impressive but I think even just loading the bar to 505 is pretty impressive! I loaded a bar to 267 once just to see what the WR CJ looked like and I was knackered. 😁
In your coverage of the Giants Live you missed out on Lucy Underdown smashing the women's deadlift record. Also there were three men who went for the 505, but I think Hicks' was the closest
21:05 23.51 m, second longest throw of all time, 5 cm short of his WR. Farther than Ulf's 23.06 m throw from "the '80s" or Randy's 23.12 m from 1990. 77 feet 1.5 inches, bloody hell!
I threw a shot with my friend recently maybe.. 15 feet.. I definitely don't think I made 20ft, maybe. (I'm untrained) Unimaginable to throw it 20m. Scary power
Liking the black adidas three stripe tshirt! I've been trying to find an 80s Russian WL coach (lemon yellow with black stripes) adidas T on the internets with no luck.
Ryan’s pin squats were done after morning qualification round. Finals were later that evening. I assume this was for a compensatory acceleration effect.
We haven’t broken through the 500kg barrier. We have sat on the barrier looking over the other side. Even at 501kg no one has really gone over the otherside into the 500+ territory. Especially considering everyone is making these attempts in comp like Eddie did and not a glorified gym lift with Skype referees
Can Sika do a video on Greg Nuckols's points on sumo vs. conventional, I was pretty sceptical at reading his findings however I don’t know enough on this topic to dispute them.
Have you guys heard of that Iranian masters lifter who got banned for life recently by the Iranian weightlifting federation for shaking hands with the Israeli masters lifter who placed third . Crazy
It is just a byproduct of the big breath of air all lifters take before squatting. The expanding of the diaphragm lifts the shoulder girdle. The heavier weight classes have blocked that are just so massive that it is harder to see it, but it is happening there, too.
@@robertjackson2002 I always heard you should visualize breathing into your stomach and oblques instead of your chest when squatting. I guess that information is outdated

Hey lads, can I just say about shane. He's obviously an absolutely incredible athlete that you guys have a quality relationship with. But he has made some pretty vile anti semitic comments as of late. That does not detract from his acumen as a lifter, and who am I to judge your tolerance for rotten statements. But if you rag on saudi for sports washing, and very justifiably so, please examine shane's instagram activity and if you can tolerate it. I would personally steer well away from an individual that can spew the vitriol he has so flippantly.
@@jwt-nu3ei I can't say I've seen anything, but thats because I instantly unfollowed him. I think when you produce that level of bilge, a vapid apology isn't quite enough
@@euanmorrison11 Your original post suggests he's made multiple "vile, anti-Semitic comments". From what I know - and again, people are welcome to correct me (I don't follow him) - he's currently got some on-going issues and made a single (arguably) anti-semitic comment to Doucette, followed up (in the same conversation) by a barely coherent diatribe. When I looked into this, a few of the people who know him mentioned some pretty alarming details about his current mental health, and strongly implied drug / alcohol use was a factor. It sounds like you (very fairly) unfollowed him for it. But it's pretty unfair to comment any further, not least on the sincerity of an apology you haven't seen, and it's frankly beyond the pale to imply an on-going pattern of anti-semitic behaviour. The man's lost multiple sponsors, apologised, and has seemingly not done anything since. If he begins to exhibit a pattern of behaviour (as you've implied above), then obviously the situations looks very different, but he needs to be offered some way back. And to compare him to Saudi Arabia (in any capacity) is ridiculous.

Around 8 minutes in the Arminians EMP'd the tape reel, data well and truly corrupted.

And I'm worried about Fitz he seems a bit fixated on that coffee at 8:00
i love the cool new video effects you added at 9:00 :)

I noticed both with Giulias snatch attempt and the 73s Power Clean they seem to be slipping on the platform.
ATG posted a great recent interview with the Italian coach and discussion regarding their methods and intensity/frequency the week of comp

graham tore a hamstring two weeks before that, pretty crazy to still perform that well
The title had me excited
Was hoping to see some Jamaican Weightlifters 😢

Sika news is getting a lot of views quickly!! Great work lads!
Been trying to get Big Wayne on the News Show with a while, he's a tank
He has been 22 years old for the last 30 years.
I think that the heaviest deadlift so far is 502.5 kg by Krzysztof Wierzbicki (at around 110 - 115 kg of bodyweight) - no suit, sumo, straps.

Magnus Ver Magnusson was there in person to referee.
Hey guys should check out Rondel Hunte recent deadlift 410kg! I think it matches IPF biggest deadlift record
Yeon Hak. John Haack? Coincidence? same person in disguise?
Looks like the platforms are quite slippery on the sides.
ive seen a couple videos of athletes slipping on them
RUclips UnSubed me for no reason SMH. I was wondering what happened to the news show. Resubbed. Hope all my USA bros chilled on Labor Day .

I heard somewhere years and years ago that Ben Johnson did heavy squats just before he sprinted. I wonder.
Likely. And used drugs also.

can someone explain the shoulder shrug method people are doing before squatting like RussOrhii? it seems to just be the lighter weight lifters.

I was checking out Giulia miserendino's "technique" right before clicking this video, and then she's the first lifter you feature, nice.
Didn't Hnt lose his mind a while ago and get banned by WRPF?
Daire needs rebooting, you alright fella?

the podcast was mentioned twice this week. does that mean sh*t talk is coming back??

Benedikt Magnusson has the raw WR DL 460kg. Maybe one day some abomination freak of nature Eddie Hall with Mark Felix hands might get 500 raw?

Has he made any more comments since the initial DM to Greg Doucette which he subsequently apologised for? The guy doesn't seem particularly well atm.
