6 Siblings Living In The Shadow Of Alzheimer’s | TODAY
Poor Carla - as the only one of the siblings who doesn't have the gene, so much responsibility will be put on her.
What a tear jerker!!!
As a newly diagnosed early onset dementia patient, I'm so happy to have found this video. I've searched for a support group and have only found ones for caregivers. I need input and advice from the people who are living with it and in the same stage as me. We all do.
please look into using methylene blue. We reversed my mom’s Alzheimer’s symptoms using Methylene Blue! This brings hope! There is a show on it posted at The Natural Health Researcher RUclips channel.
Years ago PBS aired a documentary on a family just like this with 4 or more siblings who found out early onset Alzheimer's disease ran in their family. I recall one of the brothers and a sister had been pilots who eventually could do nothing for themselves and were put in facilities by their children. Their father had it but no one knew what it was at the time, I also remember the sons of the sister showed how their mother was declining rapidly when cousins came to visit. The children of the siblings were asked about getting tested. Just like wiith the family here, some wanted to know others didn't. By the end of the documentary another sibling had started to decline .I can't remember the family's name only that 2 maybe more were pilots that had really busy lives that included great times with spouses & children that got cut very short. I would like to see it again to see if there's an update. I appreciate the families sharing their story with the public. It will help all of us. They'll stay in my thoughts from now on.
What a beautiful family
this is so sad. i hate alzheimers. my mom has early onset alzheimers
This IS my family. My father, his 3 brothers, & their father all had it. 34 grandchildren & we all are anxious to see who is next.
please look into using methylene blue. We reversed my mom’s Alzheimer’s symptoms using Methylene Blue! This brings hope! There is a show on it posted at The Natural Health Researcher RUclips channel.
I hope this family will go through Dr. Bredesen's ReCode. Everyone must read Dr. Bredesen's book, "The End of Alzheimer's." Why would Marie Shriver not share this information during the episode with this family? More people must hear of the patients that have reversed their memory loss and sustained the improvement.
Alzheimers runs in my family too. I have had nearly every horrible ailment on both sides of my family and I have a strong feeling that I carry this genetic gene 😢 my great grandma Pearl died from Alzheimers after 16 years. My grandma passed away at 75 with cancer and never developed Alzheimers but her brother developed it at 76 and died 7 years after his diagnosis, I am not aware if her youngest sister had developed it, but she just passed away. I was only close to my Great Grandma and Grandma (not her siblings). 💔 It's a heart breaking disease, my great grandma began to develop it in her early 60's but wasn't diagnosed until around the mid-late stages. I really would like to have the genetic test done to see if I carry this gene.
Just live as if you know. Look up the Bredesen protocol. It WILL save and change your life. Break the chain!
@@manifestlove888 that has not shown to be effective at reversing or prevent dementia. Y’all read a book and think you found a cure.
How scary that must be not knowing. I can't say if I would take the test or not. I'm sure eventually I would.
Our family also has early onset alzheimer's in our family. Its the worst thing and we have to fight for a cure everyday.
Please look into medical cannabis. xxoo
@@jammymommy Wow, your comment is stupid beyond words. Why do ignorant people even post online?
@@jammymommy lol Canalis is not a magic cure my dude 😢😂
😢 This is so sad.
No one has helped us 6 generation 6 sibling dieing .Noemi please help
God bless all. Please pray for this family...
If there is a God why would he do this to a family 🤨🤬
I am 52living with early onset, Alzheimer’s disease
❤️🙏
At Marlene - For familial early onset Alzheimer’s/Dementia you can have a blood test done to test for the PSEN1 and PSEN 2 genes. If you test positive for either you WILL develop the disease.
Both of my parents had a form of memory loss and I do not wish to know my results.
today our teacher Tyler Demoe we learned today that his family has the higher risk in Alzheimer's this is not fake
Maybe everybody should have genetic testing before they marry and have children
Bonnie Young I don't think its neccesary unless there are obvious detrimental autosomnal dominant disorders. In this families case, there was family history, therefore candidacy of genetic testing.
They always say 50% chance, but it never seems to be. Of all the videos on different disorders that I've watched, be it genetic dementia, Huntington's, barber say, etc. it always seems that more of the children get it than don't and I've watched a lot of videos. Is the defective gene somehow favored? Someone please explain this.
it does not mean 50% of your children will have it. It means each child has a 50% chance of having it. you get 50% of genes from mom and 50% from dad.
so, there is an. Alzheimer's disease..have heard that is not genetic. So learned that by seeing this. pray there is a preventative cure for this cruel disease.
Kathy Petersen Early onset alzheimers is almost always genetic. Later onset can be a mixture genes, environment, lifestyle choices toxicity exposure ect ect....
Everyone will develop alzheimer’s at some point, simply most people die before they get to that point. Best of improved medication more and more people are starting to get alzheimer’s. The sad part is that several people like this family have it early.
USE NAC SUPPLEMENTS THAT HELPS WITH BRAIN FUNCTION
What test? It takes an autopsy to diagnose altheimers.
A genetic test (blood test). Early onset Alzheimer's is inherited via autosomal dominant pattern -- one copy of an altered gene is sufficient to cause the disorder. Testing positive means one carries the gene variant for early onset Alzheimer's and will develop the illness; it doesn't mean one has clinical disease (yet).
"Regular" Alzheimer's is not inherited in the same way. There are genes which increase the risk of [regular] Alzheimer's, but they do not guarantee developing the disease, as does the gene for the early onset variety.
Maria what happened to your face?
you can prevent and reverse this disease by cutting out all animal products fro your diet and eat a whole food plant based diet. My mother has this and there is no way i want it. its horrible
