I literally just discovered this undeniable mastapiece of an experience...for it’s not a game at least through my lenses. The first time I walked within this supply room I was greeted with an unusual sensation of loneliness. Rather the feeling of being completely on my own facing a world that’s possibly in turmoil for I saw the monstrosities as I made my way throughout the mansion. The beautiful warmth of the lantern provided a sense of hope and gentleness for ones soul. It’s a literal blessing in disguise when the exterior is filled to the brim with horrors that cannot be explained. I can’t even describe the sensations that it provided me but I’m sure it provided with anyone who’s wandered into this beautiful experience. Just something I can’t replicate into words for it’s a momentary expression of reflection for any troubled soul.
I love this theme. It's peaceful yet eerie. While you're in the save room, you feel calm because there're no enemies but the "howling" in the song reminds you that there are creatures lurking about nearby and that you can only be safe for so long..
Of course :) But it's such a sadness when you come back later and the staircase and hallways surrounding it are littered with zombies again... My little safe haven retreat, and now I can barely get there :(
My all-time favourite as well! But you know what? I've seen a ton of playthroughs were there was actually no music playing in that room. I felt betrayed.... by my own memory.
I used to have dreams (and nightmares) about that entire area of the map (the dark hallways full of paintings, the opulent stairs, all leading up to that one safe haven room.
sometimes it was a place of "ok where the hell do i go next?". it captured the fear and confusion a player would experience. wanting desperately to get through the mansion in a cautious haste

This game, and especially this theme reminds me of the time 15-20 years ago when I was a kid, it's a rainy, dark and cloudy day, with thunderstorms, there is no electricity, I'm stuck inside my house, it's dark inside, there is nothing to do but feel slight chills, and as the night closes in the only source of light is a candle.
these songs always bring back memories and make me miss the game. like i'll never get to play it again even though i know i could go to the nearest gamestop or go on the internet and buy it easily...

Beautiful. One of the most reassuring themes in any videogame, it perfectly fits the save room's safety. Is "Save Heaven" a mistranslation of "Safe Haven"
К этой песне подходит одно описание тьмы «Тьма тёмная и пугающая ,но в тоже время успокаивающая и утешающая» «Эта музыка тёмная и пугающая ,но в тоже время успокаивающая и утешающая»
I remember the first time I was playing the remake. I entered the first save room you come across (the one with the kerosene). The second I heard this music I thought "Whenever I have to plan where to go next or just need to catch my breathe Im going to come back here." Then i saw it was the save room. This song 100% conveys a safe feeling.
Just playing a Resident Evil title for the 1st time ever (despite having been a gamer for over 20 years), so I decided to start with the remake of RE1 (tried the original RE1 a long time ago and got really frustrated). Have to say, this simple little piece of music is the most "calming while also very unsettling" aural experience by far! It's a change of pace to the rest of the game music so far, and I'm glad in a way when I hear it because I know I'm in a Safe Place. BUT...the wailing reminds me I don't want to be in this mansion at all, and I have to go outside despite hearing the groans and wails of the zombies outside. I don't get anxiety much at all...this song makes me calm and anxiously stressed all at once!!
I love this music. It is beautiful. You get to feel safe for a minute or two. But there are monsters outside you have to face and fight when you leave the safe room. This game is excellent.
Resident evil safe rooms and bonfires from dark souls 1 are so impactful while also being so subtle. Not comparing the two it’s just so many games fail to pull this off.
I got into the RE series midway through the hell that was 2020, and I can comfortably say that I do not regret having this game be my first. The tank controls were a bit tough to get used to, but honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way now. I didn’t grow up with the series like a lot of fans did, (Hi, 2001 baby here.) But I love it regardless.
This reminds me of a Walk in closet of the house that my great grandmother lived in before she passed away. It was right beside the stairs in front of the front door. It didn't have a switch-on light so we put a lantern in it for whenever we had to go into the closet. It was a battery lantern, not an oil one. We even had a trunk in the closet as well. Just like in this.
This is definitely the best save room theme, mostly for reasons already said by others. Your safe, but this is only a brief reprieve, and you know it. You can practically FEEL whatever zombies and monsters are out there, crawling through the darkness, almost as if they were staring through the walls, through the door itself, looking at you with hungry eyes.
