New to Contests - Ham Radio How to Get Started

This is an incomplete guide on how to participate in amateur radio contests. However, the information might be just enough for you feel comfortable to join the fun with a basic station.
There are many different contests in the amateur radio world. The contest in this video is the ARRL International DX SSB contest. Contests such as these are a great way to test your gear and operating skills. I don't run an official contesting station or care about making a ton of contacts. I just jump in here and there to try to make a contact or two.
