I’m really going to miss videos like this and your passion to keep this hobby genuine, we have lost a huge part of this hobby, prayers to Windsor , little frag and family, RIP Jake Adams
Yes, please let us know? I ran into this video and an so happy to see these awesome individuals working towards getting corals to thrive again. Lord knows the ocean needs the help. But reading your comment makes me think this is no longer the case.
What a beauty, am sure you feel been honoured to be part of the project, and am really honoured to watch your videos, aww Jake please keep those videos rolling when you can please.
Nice video, i would love to see the sourroundins of that farm, where i see no corals, covered with corals, maybe some waste frags from de farm for example. great video loved to see it
Give my best regards to the people of Marau- I gave the first workshop there in 1997 with ICLARM, but the ethnic tension was horrible and resulted in the collapse of everything a few years later- good to see the people thriving again.
Man, where's the parasites? Not even aiptasia? I love how curious the villagers are trying to figure out what's into it for the crazy white man. I bet most of them have never seen a reef aquarium nor understood why would you keep one.
Where can I buy the shirt you are wearing legend? I need atleast two shipped to Amsterdam. I don't see the same quailty shirt in the merch store. Let me know superstar!
Thanks Jake for taking us to the Soloman Island for this beautiful journey. Love the new project of coral farming and kudos to you and your team for doing this. Keep it up buddy.
Great video, awesome seeing you work with the locals. I’ve been to palawan and it was quite obvious that careless tourism causes the most damage. Those untouched by flocks of tourist were the most beautiful thing I could imagine. I just wish the governments of these countries would open up coral export in exchange for reef restoration projects. It could really boost local economy and benefit us reefers. They’re about to miss their chance as state side aquaculture takes off.
Bleaching happens almost everywhere periodically, but none of the corals I showed are technically bleached, they're just bright from growing in super shallow water
Not all farmed corals meet the standards for export so plenty gets put back, not to mention the broodstock colonies can get large and is a standing crop of sexually active corals.
REALLY NICE VIDEO. When the corals gets sold to the wealthy reef keepers like us do you know how the profits will benefit the community. Like do you know if they have plans for improving their homes or living conditions or education facilities? Love the idea and your involvement is amazing!
I would have to say this is the best reef video that I saw...I am talking about all the RUclips videos about reef tanks. We live vicariously through you Jake. Hope to see you at Reef-A-Palooza NYC.
There should be some business opportunity for these farmers selling direct to hobbyist cutting down 2 middle men in the chain. Like farmers selling via reefer builders to hobbyist and paying Reef Builders some percentage. Profits should go down to these communities otherwise wild corals will be at risk. Thanks Reef Builders for all this hardwork.
They need to ship and find ways to advertise the corals and judging by their situation, it doesn't seem like they can afford to just ship corals across the world to the big buyers in America and Europe.
I would love to do this and its most definitely interesting. We cant do this around our island in Penang. Most parts populated by heavy sewage pipes at the Beach coming from buildings . The water has turned brown to deep green
My name is Lawrence.Teingoa.from Wagina Island.Solomon Island.western side.l would like to start farming coral units at home.please guide me on and help me how to start.
Hi there. I have 3 gigas clams, and wanted to ask about the color of the mantle at 03:30. My gigas's are getting brown spots of about an inch in diameter. It is the same color as that of the gigas in your video. Was their gigas always mainly brown in the mantle, or did it become that color over time...?
Hello there, Really great video and I am so exciting when I was watching your video. I am currently live in Honiara, and just started the aquarium hobby 6 months ago. If I am not wrong, i think i had met you guys before, when you asked for fiberglass aquaculture tanks in Honiara. If you are still interested about the tanks, let me know. I am willing to help :)
It's sad that corals will go extint soon and the only place we will see them it's reef aquariums. It's like what is happening with seahorses, axolotels, some fish and other animals.
Well if your namesake where as smart as King Solomon your ass would be sunning itself there on white hot sands in front of your own beach house right now.
I think we take for granted all the equipment and abundance in materials at our disposal to enjoy our hobby. Must be a bit humbling to work alongside those villagers.
Pretty big fan of all the new Danae/Palawanensis and similar species - caliculata is pretty neat too - although it's hard to beat a perfect colored purple or orange digitata

This is just insane every SPS reefers dream.

great video loved to see it

Give my best regards to the people of Marau- I gave the first workshop there in 1997 with ICLARM, but the ethnic tension was horrible and resulted in the collapse of everything a few years later- good to see the people thriving again.
5:33 It also has a Christmas tree worm living in it.
beautiful video jake! this is my dream job... keep on reefin!
Awesome documentary:-) thank you for sharing

Not even aiptasia?

Natural reefs, natural predators & grazers
Fantastic
When do they start sales? Or are they already in the process I'd love to support any coral farming. To save the reef in any way possible.
How do we buy corals from this farm? I want to support this community.
Love it
Amazing
I wanna be a coral planter 🥰
That’s crazy
Where can I get that hat?
Are there any freshwater sea? (That's important for me)
Where can I buy the shirt you are wearing legend? I need atleast two shipped to Amsterdam.
I don't see the same quailty shirt in the merch store. Let me know superstar!
How can one support the cause?
Where’s the LPS love man ?!? Would love to see some farmed bubbles and euphylia.
Euphyllia and similar LPS is Coral Farming 201, different workshop, techniques and location.
question, how many hours or how long can corals last when it's not underwater??
I wanna start making my coral tank how do I start
You should clean dead from from their ,
“We collect and grow coral for rich man.”
Really cool but we can t see names 🙁 nice anyway...
So, despite alleged coral bleaching, all is good ?
How long can the corals be out of water before it could possibly do harm or kill it?
Minutes or hours depending on the species
Thanks
Music way to loud
I'm very thankful that there are still people who deeply care about our oceans
Man, id love to see the growth progress in 6 months to a year.
“our boy lincoln”

Damn, is it me or does it look like a bleaching event occurred here
Bleaching happens almost everywhere periodically, but none of the corals I showed are technically bleached, they're just bright from growing in super shallow water
@@ReefBuildersVideo I know, I was talking about the surrounding area
Any plans to put some back on the reef to help restore? Or just farm for export?
Not all farmed corals meet the standards for export so plenty gets put back, not to mention the broodstock colonies can get large and is a standing crop of sexually active corals.
Coral farming is what I dream of doing with my life. One day...One day.
Same here Art of War ! :-)
Fuck yeah.... same here
Don't wait. Tomorrow is not promised to us.
Same 😍😍😍
cause you know, when i frag my tank, the whole village comes out to help.
REALLY NICE VIDEO. When the corals gets sold to the wealthy reef keepers like us do you know how the profits will benefit the community. Like do you know if they have plans for improving their homes or living conditions or education facilities? Love the idea and your involvement is amazing!
The first thing that new income goes towards is to pay for the kids to attend classes at school
Reef Builders 👍🏾 that’s how to help a community. 👏🏾👏🏾

What is the material of that circle things they to use to build a coral on it , is’t rock ?
There should be some business opportunity for these farmers selling direct to hobbyist cutting down 2 middle men in the chain. Like farmers selling via reefer builders to hobbyist and paying Reef Builders some percentage. Profits should go down to these communities otherwise wild corals will be at risk.
Thanks Reef Builders for all this hardwork.
There are intensive permits and legalitys to import corals, making cutting out a wholesaler nearly inpossible.
They need to ship and find ways to advertise the corals and judging by their situation, it doesn't seem like they can afford to just ship corals across the world to the big buyers in America and Europe.
All corals are protected by CITES ( Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora ). Hence this will never happen.
Rip jack Adam’s you were amazing
Jake - have you considered an ecotour I come model, hobbyists pay to come and help farm corals?
What a special video
you rock man🤙🏻💪🏼🇵🇷
🎉❤
Is this a Jake Adams startup venture? Intending to export to where? The program? Sooooo many questions ... Beautiful corals ...
The Studio is my startup, but the corals goina have to come from somewhere so might as well do it right.
How can i get that tshirt you have on?
I would love to do this and its most definitely interesting. We cant do this around our island in Penang. Most parts populated by heavy sewage pipes at the Beach coming from buildings . The water has turned brown to deep green
Where can i get one of your tshirts?

I WANT THIS JOB SO BADLY!!!, I DONT EVEN CARE IF IT WOULD WASTE MY TIME JUST SEEING A CORAL TO GROW FOR 6 MONTHS. AND ITS NOT EVEN A WASTE OF TIME!!!

Great video! Love this series... I gotta ask... how many frags you Leave with 👀👀👀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
None yet, more important to get them farming first, the corals will come soon enough
Dang Jake please keep ‘em coming. Where can I get some swags? Love the hat and T-shirt
Working to develop a nice line of Merchandise
Too bad the corals that are not on the tables are all dead...
They should take care off that also...just to make it more sustainable.
Like what your doing, as well as very interesting, thanks....
Look forward to seeing another video..
These corals sale for 50 to 100 dollars,,, but these people are very poor. I bet, they probably make 0.50 cents per frag.
Wow $10000 of corals in that bucket. I'm sure which they will pay $10 to them for..
It’s hard to enjoy the pink stylophora when you are running actinic light . They look much better in the natural sun light
can i just replant and garden coral without government permission, cus iam still doing something good for the reef.
Rip you are missed
Corals and thongs. What else can a MAN want!
Is this coral farm restart a solution to the Indo ban? Hope for follow up episodes to see this venture grow!
Coral jewelry should be outlawed or a the very least there should be a tax that goes directly to farming.
Why same type of coral culture isnt used for red coral?
This is awesome to see the way they do things in the islands and where our corals come from and the aquaculture aspect of it. Great videos bro
why not use surgical line rather than fishing lines? surgical one dissolve over time.
miss you jake
It's sad that corals will go extint soon and the only place we will see them it's reef aquariums. It's like what is happening with seahorses, axolotels, some fish and other animals.
Now this is what Reef Building is all about! From the ground up! We need more of this all over the world! 😎
Those people are good for cutting corals because they sell them to aquariums all the time
interesting!

Sweet video, what's the track playing @14:00
That’s the best place for diversity. It doesn’t belong on dry land.
Awesome work Jake, i hope it goes well for you. Great video, i really enjoyed 👌
Hey Jake, great videos! What’s your personal favorite Montipora that you have owned before?
Pretty big fan of all the new Danae/Palawanensis and similar species - caliculata is pretty neat too - although it's hard to beat a perfect colored purple or orange digitata
Wow
It's good to see how they do the frags over in the Solomon Islands
I wanna visit this Solomon Islands, even my name is Solomon..
Look like this will be wwc wild coral farm.
I love to find coral on the beach or iredessent shells
What I love is that you don't have to take more than what a good-size parrotfish might in order to make this all work.
