I have been interested in this truck since I was a boy of 15 years old, 42 years ago. I saw M35A2s almost every day in the streets carrying soldiers and ammunition. There were convoys of tens of vehicles. It sounds powerfully. Hope that one day I am able to afford one.
I have a 72 AM general that was non turbo it was being completely rebuilt body and drivetrain. After an 8 year overhaul it now sports a turbocharged 6 cyl. And it is being painted the original green with white lettering as issued . You either love them or you hate them, I actually love mine!
Turbo has been added since the filming of this video :) Currently the motor is being completely torn apart and rebuilt. Thank you for the heads up though.
I was in the National Guard for 14 years and put a lot of miles on these deuce and a half. The non turbo was definitely underpowered as well as being miserable to drive. The turbo models had a little more power and I preferred to drive one of them. The up side to them was that they were almost indestructible and easy to work on. Very uncomplicated.
mine is non turbo, no plan to add just mo trubles. turbo does little for power. maybe slight mpg gain but neg is head gaskets must be matched to the extra boost. many turbos have head gasket issues. for this reason will keep mine nonturbo
@@matthewmajcher7180 I mean, I've seen forum posts where people talk about slapping turbos on 711 Macks and getting rather impressive numbers out of them, so I wouldn't doubt it that someone's slapped a turbo on an ldt465. People do crazy shit just to see if it can be done; Now, the question is: Has any of this knowledge been uploaded to the Internet? That, my friend, is the true mystery.
This is a more rare truck. To get one so unmodified and original . I would have liked to have had a m35a1 Myself. They are getting harder to find. Almost all ave the turbo now. I would have loved to pissed off the local liberal tree huggers here, lol, ha,ha. Great truck man.

what was it like with out the turbo vs with turbo
Bad Company all turbo really does to these trucks is make them not smoke as bad and give them 5 more horsepower really
I LOVE the non-turbo trucks!!

Glad mines not the only non-turbo that smokes like a SOB
is the truck still for sale, where is it at and how much are you asking?
Is it sold?
What is the level of effort to add the turbo? Like how many hours and/or any specific trouble spots to be aware of...?

In Cambodia still use it
@cviewclipper Yes, the deuce is still for sale.
the reason they put the turbo on was to stop the smoke... not to ad power.
It did help with the power a bit tho. The number is not significant, but it is noticeable when driving.
@@matthewmajcher7180 Yeah, the NHC 250 Cummins seems a little more lively with a turbo than not. The turbo helps in higher altitudes, too.
@@DWLip I wonder if anyone has done a turbo upgrade on an ldt465, I can't find any videos on it...

@@DWLip Amen to that brother

what did you use for the vehicle intercom system
I have an intercom made for airplane use in my Deuce. It is a Softcomm International ATC-2. They also have an ATC-4 for crew-cab applications.
It's not still for sale is it?

It's especially hard to find deuces with ENDT-673 Macks or NHC-250 Cummins'.
@PaDeuceOwner29 It's character!!! LOL
Uoc gi gio minh dc chay xe nay
so y did u sale it
I thought that they put turbo on them before 71.
Sorry the truck is no longer for sale.
My 65 is non turbo, smokes like house on fire
@cviewclipper We are asking $5500.
steel got it or its gone
so without the turbo you don't need to do the cool down time
+Thri11Gamer115 Yes
When I see the black smoke coming out of the exhaust, it must be clear that this guy can't drive an oldskool diesel engine!
