This is why I couldn't be a teacher. Id go into tangents that would both scar and educate the students. Like, how early Christian doctrine tried to stay true to its Judaic roots, so one of the early tenets required for conversion was in fact circumcisions. Circumcision was a beautiful shadow of things to come. It was to symbolize what has been done to the heart, a vulnerable part of us. I love the Bible and even more so understanding the why in former practices. The entire tabernacle is amazing! It symbolizes salvation and the work of God within us getting us to be born again and then what happens after. Plus the symbolism of what God robed in humanity would do as our sacrificial lamb and high priest at the exact same time 🤯 beautiful just beautiful
I must say…. Even though I’m a mom and a grandma, any time I hear the word circumcision, one memory pops to mind. I’d recently been given a promotion at work and was in the business/admin office. While it wasn’t directly linked to HR, we controlled a lot of aspects for various employees that had to maintain various licenses above and beyond regular employees. We had a man who’d worked for the company since he was a teenager. Big guy, a man’s man kind of guy. He let me know he’d be out for a day, maybe two, He was having to get circumcised (he was in his mid-30’s). But Mr Manly Man balked at the idea he may need more than a day off! “I’m a grown man, not some little snot nose momma’s boy”. Well this manly man ended up eating the most crow a person could. He tried to come in that second day, and he was in such pain he couldnt make it to the employee area to clock in. Finally he accepted that maybe he wasn’t Superman as he turned around to go back to his truck, tears flowing, snot pouring, two coworkers helping him get to his truck. Apparently the manly man never took into consideration that ‘grown men’ regularly have partial (or even full) elections that have nothing at all to do with sex. Obviously, much more than a new born or infant would have. After two weeks passed, mr manly man was able to come back to work minus tears and snot bubbles! That incident literally made me pray to never have sons…. And god was listening… I only have daughters!
Thank you I needed this so laugh so much. I've been living in chronic pain for years and today I got some bad news that if I don't get my back fixed I got be paralyzed from a injury if I don't get back surgery. This made me cry I was laughing so hard. Thank you

Sometimes they hit puberty REALLY early, the earliest I have seen is 8. If you are still in middle school, you are missing nothing When boys mature it’s very random. They usually if anything hit puberty in middle school at the minimum, and they could still be growing all the way through college. @@animekid3025 when born boys have a foreskin on their wiener...circumcision is that piece being cut off
1.
cut off the foreskin of (a young boy or man, especially a baby) as a religious rite, especially in Judaism and Islam, or as a medical treatment.
2.
(as a practice traditional in some cultures) partially or totally remove the external genitalia of (a girl or young woman) for nonmedical reasons.
Origin@@animekid3025 its gross
lol
@@animekid3025 Essentially its when skin is removed from the tip of your penis. If your penis head is red with no skin, its circumcised. If it has skin just like the rest of your penis, its not circumcised. Its usually done by choice of parents, usually religious, sometimes for hygienic purposes.

I literally love this teacher she is awesomee
In year 6 my teacher said he wouldn’t tell us about a certain part of the crucifixion because we were too young. Still have no idea what it was. We didn’t have smartphones back then but I don’t think Google would’ve helped if I can’t find it now either.
Not sure either. Worse I can think of is the spear that was stabbed into Jesus's side. And the pressure on his hand wounds from the weight of his body.
Crucifixion is pretty Brutal in general
Crucifixion was brutal as all hell so likely plenty of aspects of it wouldn't be kosher for a elementary/middle/high school classroom

Like, how early Christian doctrine tried to stay true to its Judaic roots, so one of the early tenets required for conversion was in fact circumcisions.
In a pre-penicillin and pre-anesthesia world, without the monomolecular blades we can use for modern surgeries. Yah, might be a reason the Council of Nikea had that as one of the points of discussion.
It was the council of Nicaea not nikea
@@markwilliams9157 TBF the Council of Nikea likely had some sweet footwear and furniture.
@@markwilliams9157 Close enough, the classical pronunciation of the name is Nikea anyway, the 'c' is hard.
Lol! Though I'm thankful I have it done, I do think it's a gruesome barbaric custom. The reactions are hilarious. I couldn't imagine making this choice as an adult. Like walking your pelvis to the guillotine. That's scary. Lol
How would high schoolers not know about this? Most american men are circumsized. Also, "I'm scarred for life" is a very funny word choice.
Apparently not. Somehow, another student brought up the topic of a vasectomy in my high school history class. The guys in the class thought that a vasectomy was the same thing as getting neutered, and were completely appalled by it. That was quite the conversation that my teacher had to have...
Not anymore, fortunately. Its about 50% now and decreasing, thank god.
When we had health class in 7th grade, our teacher said that we had to write questions on a paper and put it in a box. Then, he would read them during health class in front of the whole class. And some stupid people put extremely inappropriate questions in there and so we learned so much stuff that we aren't supposed to learn until grade 11. Side not: three quarters of my class (not including me) left the class crying and some even puking. It was a sh*t show.
Damn that's tough bro
My teacher did the same thing, separated by gender. Now as an adult, I feel like the teacher did a shit job and if you’re going to be teaching health/sex Ed you should at least be educated than n the topic yourself

So in other words, you have no problem gen-itally m-utilating your sons.
Are you a monster?.
Wait, so you would have circumcised your boys if you had any? Why?! That's just cruel!
I am definitely one of the students that googled it

@@Samnatural and that's one reason I don't like teachers these days. If you bring up a subject in school, be prepared to teach about that subject. Questions are not unforseeable
You never know what a students parent’s limits are on things. If she’s talking about what is essentially genital mutilation to a bunch of children she would probably get in hot water because of someone’s parents being unhappy. Better she keep herself and her job safe. It’s not her responsibility to totally and completely educate the kids on every and all subjects
@@Zelda00Gamer exactly thank you i could not explain it
@@Zelda00Gamer ok, I can see that. And I realize what I'm about to say is personal belief / preference, but a school is for learning. At a certain grade, imo, nothing should be left off the table. If a parent has a problem with sex Ed, then possibly consider catholic school or other alternatives.
I also realize that as a parent, I'm responsible for the education of my child as much
if not more than the teachers. Which is another reason I think it's wrong for a parent to dictate fair and settled aspects of a child's education.
Lol parents who have to pay for the phones to get fixed. “We don’t get paid enough for this”

Yeah! Everyone grows at different rates!
@@staryskyzanimates oh ok 😅 thx for replying
I'm like a teen and I'm 4'7 so yeah im short lmao
Yeah everyone has growth spurts at a different time and it’s normal. For example:
Girls normally mature (like grow) quicker, though the highest age a girl has gone without hitting puberty is 17. Sometimes they hit puberty REALLY early, the earliest I have seen is 8. If you are still in middle school, you are missing nothing
When boys mature it’s very random. They usually if anything hit puberty in middle school at the minimum, and they could still be growing all the way through college. While they have already hit puberty, the usually still grow taller and get more facial hair.
You aren’t missing anything, though I am a 5’4 female in 6th grade😅 so yes it’s completely fine and normal to be short in middle school. That’s not me, but it’s science 💕

I think it's cool you're teaching mythology to young kids because even though it's not true you can still learn a lot about human, social and moral development. Studying our mythology teaches us how unreliable faith is as a methodology for discovering truth. 👍

I assume she's teaching in america. How do the students not know what circumcision is? Isn't like almost every guy circumcised there?
@Brooke Eckstein Well they've been doing it since 1870, and like 76% - 92% of male babies are circumcised in the us (according to WHO), so idk what you're talking about
@Brooke Eckstein Oregon actually has one the lowest rates of circumcision in the country at 24% in 2021, but the majority of states have higher rates than that
