Quick correction guys,
On the NI website, the instructions are to copy the Native Instruments folder that contains the MK2 folder also. Make sure you're pasting both into your midi scripts inside the application folder for Ableton! It doesn't work if you don't copy both the folder titled "Native Instruments" AND the folder titled "Komplete Kontrol MK2".

Hey man! I got my MK2 early as well, but I'm not exactly sure where to actually get/find the files that you were copying and pasting into Ableton. I'm also on PC. Appreciate the help in advance!
They sent me a download link with the install files...I’m not allowed to post it publicly...check with your NI Rep...he should be able to help you

Hey! If you have the Komplete Kontrol software versio 2.1.3 or higher, no need to go through all that anymore. Just go to Ableton 9/10 Preferences in the MIDI area and choose KOMPLETE KONTROL MK2 from the drop down and leave the input and output drop down alone. Then make sure below that MIDI input below is set on the keyboard, and close Preferences. If you have the MK1, you still have to follow these directions. Otherwise, easy!

John, thanks for putting this up. I was able to follow the instructions and succeed, however, I am BRAND NEW to NI, and I still can't BROWSE - I noticed the browse button never activated in your demo. Could you point me to instructions on how to get this going please? (Again, TOTAL newbie here. I'm using a Mac, and have Ultimate CE/S61 MK2). Thanks!
Browse button only works when you have the Komplete kontrol plugin loaded

So i Followed your steps and noticed once I got to the Ableton Live folder and highlighted the "Maschine_MK2" folder it I didnt even have half of the things you had...? Highly confused by this idk why...I really hope I didn't just waste $450 buying ableton :(

hey my friend ....thanks so much for the video....as always NI gear is a nightmare.....iv followed exactly what you have done as well, as followed the manual but for the life of me Komplete knurl does not show up in my Ableton control surface list, all I see there is Kontrol49.....can you please help me as im going crazy and have no idea what to do next...thanks so much

Hey, can you control the mixer in the keyboard whilst in arrangement view in ableton or is this only with the session view??

Hi there John. Thanks for this! Seems like some every cool integration there. I am curious, with it set up like this is it still possible to utilize the feature of lighting up keys on the keyboard according to scales? I imagine if so, it would take place on whatever track the komplete kontrol plugin is placed, or perhaps on whatever track an NI plugin is being used (Kontakt, Massive, etc.). It would be awesome to see another video regarding this, but thanks again for this!

With the MK2s the MIDI 'in's and out's" can be left at "none".
Thanks for the video. Quick question..I use arrangement view more than session view. However, when i press record on the komplete it always tries to record in a clip rather than on the arrangment. Do you know a work around?

Hi,
Nice video! Do you know if the keyboard screen is run by a chip inside the keyboard or does it rely on the computer? I have Push2 and it takes up significant resourses on my old computer to run the Push2 screen. I'm wondering if S-series MkII would have the same issues.
Is there a new process that shows up in activity monitor when you use the keyboard?

I never found it. Native Instruments is a lame company when it comes down to customer support. I unplugged my keyboard and returned it for a refund.
Thanks..Native Instruments needs to step up their installation game. This is kinda meh.

Native Instruments ? If you wanna deal with poor software and the Customer Support that does not care - go for it, but I will never ever buy anything from NI in my life again. Horrible company ! Stay away from NATIVE INSTRUMENTS
