I experienced something similar in college. I wore mostly all black but I mixed it up with red sometimes. Nothing too fancy but better than casual. After a while certain girls in my classes clearly put more effort into their look and wearing more black and red. Now if a woman asks about things that I like I can mention how much I like history and why I like history and she will start to lesson but she will do her best to change the subject so I will talk about OSU there ag program and how they do alot for the 4-H program as soon as you mention the fair they want to change the subject why because I mentioned getting dirty fairs have dust, durt and other things. So you talk about your travel experience you talk about different places you go to and you are not interesting to her. It wouldn't matter if you got to watch the Oakridge Boys and other big name stars they where not in a big name town so they where not interested. I could want to go to a land cruise but it will take 2 per room and she will not go because it is in amish country. Now unless you are going to talk about bells and Whistles women are not interested
