      In Ghana, when a lady or anyone is confident in herself, the person is seen to be exhibiting pride.
      The said lady was arguing that nothing has been laid before parliament for debate.
      The speaker could have also used appropriate words rather than to ask her if she listens to herself.
      She also kept explaining that she didn't understand "from the very beginning". It meant different things to her.

      Disrespectful in what sense, she ursula was rather disrespectful because you brought out your grievance and the speaker asked you whether you've been around since the very beginning of proceedings and you said no but goes ahead and recommit yourself by saying you've been around since morning and even was in before the speaker arrived in chambers then it means the answer she gave was wrong so if the speaker asked did she listened to herself before answering that question the speaker is right because how can you say to not been in the chamber in the very beginning of proceedings and want to be served ansure to budget proceedings.

      @Aspectfrgee 8 месяцев назад

      @@lot.yyuhkwarteng460 I'd beg to differ , that question was ambiguous, in a parliamentary setting debates could have been on going for weeks even months, so the very beginning lacked clarity and was well within her remit to respond as she saw fit, I'm not pro-Ursula but the speaker going to the extent of uttering that a fellow human being doesn't listen to themselves when speaking implies disrespect ,in other words, you mean to say the person doesn’t think and that was so unprofessional coming from the representative of the 8th parliament

So if a speaker asks if she was here from the very beginning... Which very is he referring to? Because he asked the question, for her answer in order to refer her to something. So that something, did it happen 5min ago, in the morning, yesterday, last week? So Im sure that's why she said no. There was no context to "very beginning"!!!

    • @kofiivory7341
      @kofiivory7341 Год назад +4

      Confusion is killing you. The definite article “the” is used to make specification. In this case it means both the speaker and the listener are aware of what is being referred to by the use of “the” before “very beginning “ so if the minister is still confused as to what “the very beginning” is referring to she could have asked for clarification instead of giving an answer. By the way, why do you give an answer to a question you don’t understand, what if it meant your harm?
