    People don't realize that the F-35 is deadly in a dogfight, not just BVR.
    It's got better turn radius than an F-16, and better AoA than a Super Hornet. It smokes both of those planes regularly in Red Flag mock battles.
    That makes it the 2nd most capable dogfighter in the world behind the F-22 Raptor.
    That's ontop of everything else it can do outside of dogfighting.
    The thing is an absolute MONSTER of an aircraft.

      @@blainemartin1397 the F-35 program is starting to look like one hell of a success. New-build F-35As have come down in cost to the point that they're *much* cheaper than their nearest Western competitors (the Gripen & Rafale), while also being far more capable.
      It took time to work out the kinks and scale up production, but we got it sorted, and we've already produced nearly a thousand of the things.

      The F-22 is outdated compared to the F-35. The F-35's electronics have been upgraded ever since it flew for the first time. Back then yes the F-22 was superior but today the F-35 would actually beat the F-22. • @Taczy2023
      @Taczy2023 Год назад

      Its a multirole fighter and it will excel at air superiority. Its all about BVR, meaning the new generation of BVR radar and infrared guided missiles being developed are going to be the main choice of weapon when destroying enemy aircraft and ground radars/sams. Combine this with datalink so that the F-35s can launch missiles towards enemy targets using allied AWACS aircraft to guide the missiles and without having to turn on their own radars and expose themselves. Its truly a step up for NATO.

    • @ObiWanShinobi917
      @ObiWanShinobi917 11 месяцев назад

      It is built to dominate the sky in all roles.
      Air superiority, BVR, AND reconnaissance.
      It does it all.
      Deadlier in a dogfight than an F-16 or a Super Hornet.
      More lethal range in a BVR fight than any other aircraft in the world.
      As well as a flying supercomputer that can map out enemy forces with ease, and give pinpoint directions to friendly missiles to make sure they meet their targets.
      It's a monster of a plane.

    • @gld1010
      @gld1010 11 месяцев назад

      I should change my wording, yes, it will be in an air superiority fighter in squadron or BVR situation but if it is forced into ACM, the pilot may wish they were in a vector thrust platform especially if their contact is also a vector thrust platform. I am just stating, it would have been even more unstoppable in a vector thrust platform. Time will only tell if they will always be in BVR.

    I wonder how many were there, prepped and ready, with the correct software loaded? 3? 4? You'd want that many. Its all-missions availability is still in the 30% range, and appears to be getting worse, as the parts snafu caused by "concurrent development" bites. But it flies real nice, when it flies at all. The aerobatics are done with the lightest possible load, but its actual combat load is only two long-range or three short range A2A missiles, plus 1 air-to-surface guided munition or two dumb bombs. The USAF is now talking about using it as a link in a "kill chain", where it uses its networking ability to direct long-range weapons from "bomb trucks". It might work, for the USAF. Pity if your nation's air force doesn't have a array of "bomb trucks".

    I am not impressed at all, but I think it is much better then A6 Intruder, F111, Jaguar, Tornado and other attack fighters.
    General Dynamics made a great dogfighter that Lockheed evolved pretty well in a letal combat plane, but will not survive against F-35 to see it close enough to start fight. This is how it goes nowadays, less knight in a duel and lucky to be still on board for a while.

      No US fighter except the F-22 and the F/A-18 have that sort of AoA capability. It’s like Hornet on steroids.

    This plane with lots of software defects. Will not be suprised if it lives up to the name of "MOST EXPENSIVE & ERROR PRONE PLANE IN HISTORY"

      And atm it’s one of the best (if not the best) plane on the market… this name is outdated since 2018

    It's called thrust vectoring! Nozzles that rotate in different directions! It's spectacular flying, but it's not defying gravity! The F35 is not the first plane to have that ability!

      The F-35A does not use thrust vectoring. The F-35B does but only for V/STOL ops.

      These are just basic maneuvers, but the thrust-to-weight ratio allows the F-35 to perform such maneuvers.

      The F22 has thrust vectoring. As pointed out by Timothy Cliett, the F35A does not have thrust vectoring.
      Since it doesn't have thrust vectoring, it must being using that ET alien technology we keep hearing about.
      (Yes, I'm joking about alien tech.)

    F35, don’t flatter yourself with this stunt Russian and Chinese aircraft can perform the same stunt, in fact much better than F35 or F22.

      We know for a fact how Russia fighters work, I mean they just lost 90 of them to Ukrainians who lacked any advanced capability, and it's not hard to imagine how the Chinese knockoff work too.
