Great work, the really exciting bit is getting closer. When you slide the roof panels up they are jamming on the beams, slide then up the ladder instead, it will be a lot easier.
Great video ,watching this scares me because its exactly how i would do it😀. other roofing videos i have watched they use a "G" clamp and rope to haul the panels up .
However the panels are so flexible there was no way to hoist them up with a rope or a winch because they would bend but having a double scaffolding tower made it easy to push the panels up, however not quite sure what we're going to do when we get to the road side because we can't block the entire road with scaffolding???
Firstly, I'm really enjoying this series - I've watched all of the videos you've uploaded. Secondly, and I know it's late in the day to be making this comment but, I get the feeling that it'd be better to have the plant room where you've put the workshop and vice versa. How about a quick episode detailing your rationale for having them where you've chosen? I'm mentioning this now before you start laying the DC cables. Also, I've seen a couple of previous comments mentioning voltage drop which you don't seem to be addressing.
Thanks for your kind words, you make some absolutely valid points rather than answering them here I think I'll make a separate video answering these questions especially since it's way too windy to be working on the roof today.
Yes it's very tricky getting up the roof to put the panels on however I don't think the solar panels will be as difficult as screwing the roof panels on.
I like the new panels. Looks so much better than the rusty old ones.
Yes that's one of the main reasons why we replaced the roof because the old one looks so awful
SARAH, GREAT PROJECT PLANNING!

Thanks for the tips!
Your very good at this, quite a project. Very inspiring.
Thank you very much!
new roof looks much better
HI. The old tin roof looks as if it was struck by lightning. 👍
No it's just very rusty
I hope the ghost who closed the door at around 6:08 is benevolent. The roof is looking great.
Just the wind it seems to blow this door open and shut all the time...
Looking good so far, keep up the good work and stay safe.
Thanks, will do!
You are braver than I :) I don't do roofs, or heights for that matter. Thanks for sharing your progress.
No worries
My full respect to you both! 🖖
Tough work but someone's got to do it
Nice work.
Thanks!
Thanks for your comments really appreciate them all
Great job
Thanks for your comment so far it's been a lot of very hard work...

Yes I thought of all sorts of options including hiring a winch,

the pitch on that roof is crazy steep! handling panels on that will not be fun.

Not a good idea to use an angle grinder on anything that is galvanised or has any zinc that can get hot, very dangerous fumes.
On a windy wide open roof, I doubt its a problem.
Hi Sarah, i've been trying to work out which county you're from in Blighty.. Can you enlighten me please?
London UK
@@Gridbusters-qx4om I had my suspicions you were.. you would have good solar production here today as blue skies and a chilly 43C 😂
