Enjoyable video. Great explanation. Great content. Good speaker... Amazing teacher. Lovely accent. I am definitely going to buy your book Mister. Thanks and keep up this good work!
Counting the days, can’t wait Simon! At 22:36 why not take the knight on c3 with the bishop with check? This would permanently shatter white’s queen side pawns, creating double isolated c pawns plus an isolated a pawn. why is c6 better? Would love to hear your insight, thanks for sharing 👍👍
I was wondering that on 6:53 ,wasnt it better for black to play Nb6 gaining a tempo on undefended bishop and also clearing the d file so after the bishop moves backwards the rook could have occupied the open file with a tempo , if the white's bishop had gone back on d3 then again rook d1 would had come with pinning the bishop and also the bishop would have been very passive on d3 , also moving the Knight to b6 will also clear the black's light square bishop diagonal opening the possibility to develop on e6 connecting rooks... just wondering.. 😅
@@alexwastakenwastaken I didn't make that up. I actually computed it, from publically available statistics. And a few days after I computed it, I saw that same number somewhere else, indicating I hadn't done the trivial math incorrectly.
I've been watching a lot of your Black Lion videos recently. It's great that you're making more. I want to buy your dee-vee-dee, as long as it's not super overpriced (just because I'm poor). And especially to help with that horrific car incident.
@Jeff Sol Rossolimo is against Nc6, not the Najdorf. I think you mean the Bb5+ sicilian, but I just go Bd7 and Nxd7 followed by a6 and maybe fianchettoing the f8 bishop and black is completely fine, maybe even slightly better in many positions.
Great stuff! Profylactic moves is what distinguishes me from complete fools. I managed to get a rating of 1730 on ten min games. Without playing the London system. Based on this very opening.
Simon please do more Longer Games series. These days we see nothing but videos of blitz games. These are useless from an educational perspective. The longer games videos are appreciated by all. Please do more.
@@-ChrisD all his course are great :D I increased a lot in my rating in 1-2 months since using GingerGM lessons:D from 1300 to 1500 on chess.com and from 1500 to 1 800 on lichess:D (only playing Blitz thou) :D

Agree with your comments about the tabloid ‘newspapers’, total rubbish. Love your videos, I bought both your Jobava London ones & will probably be buying the black lion video too
playing against a 1900 rated guy doesnt tell me anything about the opening's merits. you should at least play a 2200 rated guy for this to teach us anything. Against a 1900 you could pretty much play anything
@@pzr2681 Nonsense - I'm 1900 fide and play far better than any 2000-2100 rated player on chess.com. On Lichess, the ratings are slightly more accurate, but still greatly skewed. @@okibelieveyou7553 Well, this guy played like a beginner, and so did many of Simon's long play opponents at a similar rating. I'm not trying to be arrogant, but no one wants to see a GM beat a player who can't even understand basic tactics.
1:25 actually the most popular move in this position against Simon is turning on the engine. very high win % too
Longer Games is such a great series 🔥
Great series! I haven't played since the 80's and your videos are way more intuitive (and fun =]) than my dusty old chess book collection. Well done!

Great learning video, thank you Ginger for your work. It's so helpful for weak players as I am.

As usual, excellent and I love "don't listent to idiot", well done!! This format Is great, thank-you Simon.
A longplay game! What a treat.
Quality Content!! Thanks. I can make this comment before the intro is even finished ;)
Really cool intro. It's got a nice 70s prog rock vibe.
The black lion is a great opening. It lets you beat players who have a 500 point lower ELO!

I was wondering if you could play Bxc3 at 4:24 and than optionally sacrifice with Nxe4!? followed by Qh4+ etc
I check it and it find Bxc3 ok as well as other move but not Nxe4
What is the price of black lion course?
The Corona-Talk here aged like milk.

Simon the pooka has returned from his misadventures of spooking the tavern folk to enlighten us with a lovely game of chess.
i cant wait until the Black Lion come out on Chessable! I'm in!
