I am not sure how I feel about Operation Collections using Workshop skins. On one end, it's fantastic that independent skin creators are getting such good looking items in the game. On the other, I always really liked how cohesive the Collection skins made in-house at Valve were. You could easily tell that the Icarus Fell and Medusa were part of the same collection, same goes for the Dragon Lore and Knight, Aqua Terrace and Terrace, and so on. Also really liked that Valve made collections would often feature classic patterns on new weapons, such as Night on the Deagle, and Candy Apple for the SG-553. I don't know, they always seemed so cohesively put together when they were made by mostly the same artists, with the same exact theme in mind.
I agree completely. Assuming I found the right skins, they seem to be all over the place. I cant help but wonder as you said how much more cohesive a valve made collection would look.
Cool to see most of these skins have such little notoriety on the workshop but still getting accepted
