  • In this video placental circulation through 2 flow system is explained.
    1. Uteroplacental Circulation or Maternal Circulation-
    Maternal blood flows through the intervillous system and transfers the nutrients and receives waste from the fetus and returns back to the venous system.
    2. Fetoplacental Circulation-
    These 2 umbilical arteries carry deoxygenated blood from the fetus and go into a villous system where they receive oxygen and nutrients and by a single umbilical vein, it returns back into the fetal body.
    In both the circulations various volumes, pressures within the vessels are explained.
