    Emel mentioned this way back in the early days of this channel and gave a beautiful account of Apres l'Ondee - After the rain. Hauntingly beautiful and dandy! 👍
    Btw, today I wore Ganymede ( you know the one that came out in 2019, but for some reason is getting everyone hyping and unhyping recently), well today I got the association it reminds me of. A newly oiled leather shaving strop! Of course (don't laugh)...not just any old leather strop....a vintage leather strop that you use after sharpening the blade on a single edge razor. It hit me today after what must be 20+ wears. I love it, no harshness at all, think of it as an oiled leather in the heat. The oil hasn't quite soaked in. Gorgeous!

      I rememeber Emel talking about Apres L'Ondee and it was always on this wish list to sniff... glad you liked Ganymede! The video I did on it I think I was hit or miss 🤷‍♂️

    I love Apres L’Onde and have the EDT in a bee bottle. I don’t believe it is true vintage but it is not a most recent version either. It is heartbreakingly beautiful.

    I bought a bottle of the extrait from the 50s, recently bought a 1997 edt and it is to my surprise an absolute delight and very faithful to the extract. This pefume changes my mood radically to a reflective and perhaps sad state. Luca Turin said it smelled like a first-class funeral with 4 horses and gray ostrich feathers

    • @RamseytheRam
      @RamseytheRam  Год назад +1

      I dont remember Turin saying that! Whats funny is it is supposed to be a bright after the rain fragrance where the sun is shinning again and everything is positive, L'Heure Bleue is supposed to be the sad melencholic perfume but I can totally see how this one goes in that direction... I decided on a vintage pre-estee Lauder bottle of L'Eau d'Hiver instead.. Jean Claude Ellenas Apres Londee inspired creation for Malle 🙂

      @@RamseytheRam I have never smelled any perfume by Jean Claude Ellena. He is a perfumer who divides fragrance enthusiasts I have read very good things and very bad things about this perfumer, if it is true that he is a minimalist perfumer I do not think it is to my liking

    Nice one Rams, firstly what can I say about the Jonathan 1970 stream, except we need more lol,plus goddam he is starting a channel boom,sorely needed for us lot,fantastic 👏🏻. And I probably wouldn’t gravitate towards this particular Guerlain me thinks? Then I rushed in where angels fear to thread and blind bought a vintage edc partial called Je Reviens Worth ,dumb ass , I thought is smacked of an old masculine cologne but on investigation ,nope a heavy aldehydic floral ,however a oak moss and masculine base may just get a pass from me lol,we shall see. Cheers fella take it handy 🙏✌️👍

      Je Reviens is a classic, and in some ways similar to this one.
      Apres l'Ondee as it's quite melancholic too. If you're EDC is intact you'll get to enjoy the many stages. The scent tree goes on an on. I have the Parfum with a blue glass stopper, it's a beautiful scent leaving gorgeous trails which relate to it's name meaning "I will be back."
      Oh and Liz Moore's has a scent association with it as well.

    Interesting you mentioning there is no 'Sunshine' scent when there is in a way with the use of heliotrope.
    The Greek for Sun is Helios and trepein is to turn in Greek. This is where Heliotropes get their name as they are a flower (Heliotropion) that turn to the Sun. Dah dah!! Kind of clever of them to use it here.
    It's not your style yet.....I bet it comes calling later.

    There's no 'n' in bergamot, and the 's' in Jaques is silent - PLEASE do yourself and everyone else a favour, and take a basic French course if you are interested in perfumes, or sharing your knowledge.

      @RamseytheRam If you're comfortable adding letters to words and mangling people's names because you can't be bothered to spend a few hours learning the basics of French - a language so intimately connected to your passion, it has nothing to do with Texas or God.
