  • Another obscure automobile in desperate need of a restoration has simply fallen into my lap (or I purchased it sight unseen online 4.5 years ago from halfway across the country). This my friends is a 1993 Nissan NX2000, the spiritual successor to the Pulsar NX and a near mechanical clone to the more popular Nissan Sentra SE-R (B13). Let's see what' s in store for this project. #nissan #sr20 #carproject

When's the last time you saw one of these bad boys on the road? Have any of you owned one in the past or currently?

Think I raced one of these in my former Geo Storm GSi. I won, so there is that...

I'd kill to get my hands on a decent Storm GSi. They are pretty similarly spec'd...would make for a good head to head.

IIRC the suspension was designed by Lotus. True or not it was a very nimble and accurate and a lot of fun to drive with it's 7,200 redline. I sold it to buy a Stealth TT.@@autoobsessivegarage

I had a white ‘93 in high school in 1996. I was trying to dig half a joint out of the ashtray and veered off the road into a ditch, jumped a driveway culvert, and went through a telephone pole. I loved that car…

I love all these 90s sport compacts. Sadly in the midwest rust ate all these cars away I never see these at all.

Same with where I grew up in New England…the rust monster is always hungry. Gotta bring back to life as many as a I can.

these little things are rad, I've had the pleasure of seeing 2 in the wild, at separate times. The only reason I noticed was because I, too, love the obscure turdboxes. Looking forward to see what you cook up for this little NX

Should be quite the handling machine when I’m through with it.
They are serious head turners when they are out and about.

Man, I bought a '92 in 2006 when I was 17, and it has been my favorite care to this day. Michigan, however, took a harsh toll on it. I would buy one in a second if I found one.

@@autoobsessivegarage I paid $2500 for it. Black with 120k miles on it, and was about as loaded as it got for the car. Power everything, good A/C, T-tops, all worked well. However, rear wheel wells rotted out and I sold it to a friend not knowing how rare they were. That SR20 always surprised everyone.

  • @tonyinfinity

I had a black '93, loved the T-Tops, even tho they leaked bad, hated the front lights. It was pretty slow, still fun to drive and a head turner

They are very interesting looking cars for sure. My handling mods have certainly increase the speed in the corners…but straight line is nothing to get too excited about.

@autoobsessivegarage 1992, imported to portugal in 2001. Original, it was white. Now it's silver and I think it looks way better. I'm counting on repainting the silver this year.
Forgot to mention, I also have a dark one, 1.6 not driving at the moment. It was a barn find, with a interesting history

I owned a 92 that I bought in 1998. It rotted from the inside and I had to get rid of it. Check your rear wheel wells. I ended up changing it for 2001 Sentra SE in 2003 and had loads of fun with it. Did an SR20VE swap in it myself. Good times.
Looks like you are missing the trunk cover by the way.
Curious to see what you will do with it. I know this is 5 months old, so I will search through your channel.
    Loved my NX.

Yeah these things lived rust. This one is pretty damn rust free and I got lucky with that. No trunk cover and it’s all good in the name of weight reduction haha. Simple handling mods, catching up on maintenance , and making her look better is the grand plan.
