Hi Cruiseman - I ordered the zumo XT and became interested in base camps based on your videos on the XT. I did some reading and found that Garmin is no longer supporting base-camp software. What does this mean to us regular people that are just wanting to get started with it?

Has Honda completely abandoned fixing the OE GPS?

I don't know that Honda considers it to be broken. They opted for an auto-class GPS, NOT one designed for a motorcycle.
