    / roestalker I bit the bullet and got myself a loading press. I do not have much space so needed portable solution. This is how I fixed the press to my computer desk. It is not the nicest way, but quick and easy to set up and clean after I am finished. It is just 3 pieces of wooden board. The press is screwed in with 3x 50mm long M6 screws to the two pieces of board and the whole thing is attached to my desk with 2 G-clamps. The third board protects computer desk underneath. It is quite solid and firmly attached. When I am finished loading I just pack the press and move out the room. Setting up and removing takes only a minute. I am sure you can come up with much nicer solution, but this worked for me. I hate any DIY so as long as it works I am not going to change anything :-)

    Hi, it may be 9 years old but your video gave me a kick-start to mount the press I got from a friend. I didn't want to drill my bench so ended up with something similar to your idea. I started out with trigger action wood clamps but the game-changer is using proper g-clamps like you do - it's rock solid now, doesn't move at all & can be fitted/removed in a minute. Cheers!

    Thanks for the idea. I am getting a hip replacement next week and my reloading room is in the basement of my brick colonial. My Dillon XL650 isn't moving, but I can use this method to transfer my Lee single stage to my dining room. A month of sedentary boredom is something I want to avoid.

      I'm afraid I cant take full credit this idea has been around for some time, but I like it a lot myself as I dont have much space and it is better to tidy up after reloading session

    Been thinking about it for my Lee press (exact same model that you have). I have an RCBS press that I bolted onto the reloading bench (I built myself). But I need to have a press I can bring with me to the range when I do load development. I will borrow your idea for my Lee press. Thanks, man!

    I used this idea so that I can mount to a workmate type bench. use it for 9mm, .40, .45LC, .243, & .22-250.

    Works for me and full sizing .308 cases. I have to be gentle as my computer desk is not really heavy, but works no problems.

      +fantastico I found this works best if you dont have a dedicated reloading bench, thanks for watching!

    Why 2 pieces of wood though? Why not just one thicker piece? And I'm assuming the third piece underneath is just to protect the table?

    • @RoestalkerCoUk

      Used what was at hand, you can use one piece. Yes, you need something underneath as well.

    This is as simple, cheap and space-effective as it gets. I will most likely use this method to reload on my computer desk. Thanks!

    my question is, is it sturdy enough for full length sizing of rifle cases? im graduating from pistol to rifle reloading (for my 30-30) and they MUSt be full length sized. i have the same press.

    I thought that mounting a single stage press this way would work. I just was not sure yet. Do you still use this set up and how well is working?

    • @RoestalkerCoUk
      @RoestalkerCoUk  10 лет назад

      I dont have enough space for a dedicated reloading bench so I just use it like that and mount it to my computer desk. The desk itself is not very sturdy so I have to be careful, but this setup works very well. I full size .308 cases not problems.

      RoeStalker do you think it would be possible to make a portable table top mount without clamping it? like bolting it to a board with legs and a large base plate? if not, the setup you showed will work just as well.
