When I was in college for audio engineering, they forced us to use Pro Tools for audieo and then export into Premiere because those are the industry standards. I had such a hard time with programs crashing and freezing all the time, I began to hate the mixing and editing process. Now I use Reaper for everything and I've never been happier, my workflow is so much faster
Bruh the quality of your videos would make me think this is a channel with at least 10K subs. Not 272. Happy new year, and here's to you taking off in 2023, you deserve it!
Yep, I edit my band videos exactly like this. I use 4 cameras for video but take the audio from the desk (Zoom Livetrack L20) Reaper is super fast to sync all 4 cameras to the desk audio and to cut between all 4 cameras, just like having multiple audio tracks. I then render the finished video and export it into DaVinci resolve (Free version) and add crossfade transitions there Da Vinci also has a cool feature that can auto zoom in or out and across the shot that I can use. Reaper is great for fast basic editing and as a primary audio DAW its fantastic for syncing multiple video/audio sources to one master track.
I really like that! I really like davinci too. It’s just a tiny bit too slow to keep up with fast editing, but like literally everything else is great. And for some reason it’s free? 😊 i wasn’t aware of the auto zoom feature in davinci, that sounds awesome. Is that ‘dynamic zoom’ or are you referring to something else? Thanks
Nice video man. Reaper is an absolute hidden gem and a powerhouse video editing tool. So fast and efficient, and the custom action macros can do all the heavy lifting for you. hopefully they make some more user friendly video FX plugins in an update soon. I agree with everything you said, it's great for editing music videos with it since it is so geared towards audio and BPM etc.
When I edit video I find the screen looks too small. There’s a lot of black all around it. Is there a way to make the video take up the full screen? Plz help?
Hey there. if you wanted to combine several videos in a row in reaper, just add them into a single track in a row, and then go to file and hit render. Once in there, towards the bottom, there will be a dropdown called Format, and make sure to select 'Video (ffmpeg/libav encoder)' and then hit the render button in the bottom right. I can definitely walk through something more specific if you need :)
There's not a direct integration, but you could definitely use them together. For a quick edit, use reaper, and then just export to a low compression file, then import that file to Davinici for color grading and some of the advance features. So reaper audio's editing and video edit speed are superior to Davinici, but Davinici has far far more power and features when you need them. A lot of users will combine software like this. Let me know if I can help!
I unironically think reaper is one of the best video editing software. It is also really not power consuming. As for fx - yes, sadly, it's really limited
Why talk so fast? We came for information, and you were probably in a hurry to the Pub to quickly make a video and go hang out. So, it’s slow, klunky and has a very poor ui. Hmmm, what are the pros again? I appreciate you are coming at this from an audio stand point…something very apparent as your video here is so jump cut to the max it’s hard to watch! alas, your personal focus on Audio is super apparent because the audio is smooth, leveled out and high quality….it just isn’t worth being ham strung on the video portion of a project because things don’t work smoothly in editing with vfx, etc. especially seeing how video is the majority of the bandwidth in a video so not having that being efficient makes the workflow grind to a halt.
Real "RAW video" is technically RAW image sequences in whatever proprietary format the camera maker uses so it would need to be converted to DNG/PNG image sequence or compressed to BRAW/ProRes before going into any video editor that doesn't support it natively, let alone Reaper. Ive worked with ARRI footage and always convert it to a more familiar image or video format. Also, indy filmmakers such as those doing music videos are likely not using ARRI cameras for obvious reasons but mainly because Blackmagic and/or mirror-less cameras with +10-BIT recording dominate in this areas due to mobility/flexibility.
@@adissabovic , there is no shame in a DAW that doesn't support a specific video format because its a audio workstation. Also, I do not care about RED or any other camera company that re-invents the wheel but yet rehouses it with large sticker price only because its has a a different I/O connector.
@@captureinsidethesound Oooh, but there is a shame in a DAW bragging about supporting video formats but only support the "toy" ones. FYI, RED holds patents for recording RAW video in camera. That's why BRAW or ProRes RAW, for example, are fake RAW formats being partially debayered. Not true RAW. 😇
@@adissabovic , im not sure where you are getting that Reaper is "bragging" about video editing features. Reaper doesn't brag about it anymore than Adobe or BM brag about have audio editing abilities in their video editing software.

Hell yeah. For specific needs I think the multi-program approach will always be required, but I'm super glad reaper is working well for you.

You are so kind brother, thanks for your eyes and ears 💪🏽
Amazing tool. I just did some research about it. Thanks a lot for the video!
That's hella kind, glad it was useful to you!
This video was actually super helpful and insightful, Cam. Thanks 👌🏾
Thanks so much Eb 💜

Thanks brother. Definitely agree.
Reaper, Davinci Resolve, Blender and Unreal Engine are my main framework. The "industry standards" seem closer to being primitive at this point.

Great info! The busy song isn't necessary in my opinion :)
HOW do you render several selected clips as ONE video? can't get the settings right...

Hey! That would be super great. I shot you an email :)
is possible reaper to Davinci file integrate?

Thanks for the advice, was trying to keep the video short enough for 2024 attention spans :)

Does it take R3Ds? X-OCNs? ARRIRAW ? 😇

P.S.
R3D is no image sequence, and it's supported by many pro NLEs - natively.
